Eris Halla was a paradox. At times she was so headstrong. At other times, she was the meekest thing this side of the planet. He could barely keep her away from the war when she wanted to partake, but he could barely keep her safe when it came back to haunt her. It was the Shaymin's dilemma brought to life, all in the form of the most important kid in the world.[break][break]
Yet now, here she stood, clad in a Luxray's protective gear. She darted around less like a child and more like a ninja, tag-teaming with Reiner to carve into the imitation Swords of Justice like a thanksgiving Farfetch'd. He'd been teaching her how to fight quite a bit lately, but he always had the suspicion she knew more than she let on. Now, she showed it off with aplomb.[break][break]
So, too, did
El Sunderland. When Isaac heard his little sibling, bad leg and all, was trying to become a big name in a region as dangerous as Hoenn, he was scared shitless. It took a direct encounter, safely tucked behind the veil of his Rocket disguise, for him to get a sense of the potential that simmered under the surface. Even then, both of them worried about the turns their fates may take.[break][break]
Now, as Yggy reared up to protect the Hoenn region from these nightmare beasts that meant it harm, they both knew they had nothing to fear. El was all too willing to put their doubts aside to stand when they needed to, and when they did they stood taller than Isaac ever had. Isaac had never been prouder in his life, and yet El continued to impress him day after day.[break][break]
Maybe Isaac should learn from their example.[break][break]
Earthquake coming? He could handle that. With a pat on the shoulder, Isaac returned Akane to her ball. Then, in a seamless motion, he threw another Pokeball at his feet. Isaac was swallowed up in a flash of light, fissures in the ground criss-crossing out from where he once stood. The false Swords of Justice buckled at the knee, but not so much as a peep came from where Isaac once stood.[break][break]
An Iron Leaves found out why the hard way. Isaac not only burst from the light, but flat-out soared. Draconic energy streaked behind him as he walloped the Iron Leaves right in the face, sending it staggering back. Behind him flew Zephyrus the Dragonite, no longer even needing to carry him. Instead, he followed up Isaac's strike with a tackle of his own, sending the Iron Leaves tumbling away.[break][break]
This wasn't Isaac's usual Sygna Suit. Its armored contours, once craggy and stonelike, were now sleek and angular. His horned helmet was replaced almost with a biker's one, shielding his eyes from his daredevil like endeavors. Its orange color was a dead ringer for Zephyrus' hide, a fact hammered in all the more as they hovered back to back with their arms folded.[break][break]
Through the power of their bond, Isaac could
Fly.[break][break]
As they fought valiantly, both Isaac's family and the Hoenn region as a whole, the horde began to thin. Hoopa, nearly laid low by Rayquaza's efforts, retreated with one final riddle. The prophecy came to a pass, the White Kyurem's words slowing as if it was loathe to finish its speaking. Did it know what was coming for it when it finished?[break][break]
How could anyone? Isaac's jaw nearly dropped as he saw
illeana reyes's dream come true: Palkia storming out from a rend in space and time, striding forth to take its place by her side.[break][break]
Suddenly, there was a new goal. Protect his friend, one of Hoenn's brightest minds, as she worked with Palkia to end this nightmare.[break][break]
Zephyrus made his presence known first, his
Hurricane scattering any of the nightmare Paradoxes before they could even approach Hoenn's lead professor. As the winds settled, Isaac descended from the bove, sliding to a halt to take his place by Illeana's side.
"Shoulda known I'd find you in the thick of things," he teased, flashing her a cheeky grin.
"You help the big guy set Reshriam free. Me and Zeph here'll beat down anything that tries to get in your way."[break][break]
Draconic energy gathered around his fists. Sparks flew from Zephyrus' hands as he pounded a fist into his palm. Maybe the rest of Isaac's family would follow. Maybe others would rise to join their side. Maybe some would try to interfere, or maybe for once the region's greed would be satiated.[break][break]
Whatever happened, Isaac knew he would be here.[break][break]
