After a bit he sort of wandered off, sticking with luka chêne as they followed a couple of other curious miners. He felt a little turned around at the thought of daylight before realizing that hadn’t been the case. He looked over at Dominic Grey as he explained something about the situation. “I don’t think it’d be an issue to escort them.” He said before giving the trio a small nod and a little wave. He’d never met that friendly a pokemon before, but he wasn’t going to knock them for it. “Do Solrock and Lunatone usually pair up like this?” he asked absently. He found it kind of cute. Like a little interspecies family. The wholesome moment is interrupted by a commotion near the tunnel they’d come from. There’s silence and then a rumbling once more as a hoard of mole pokemon converged on their expedition. “Joules-!” He shouted, but the Magnezone was already moving, zooming past their trainer and smashing head on into the vanguard of the hoard, sending a couple of the smaller drillbur caught in the attack flying backwards. His partner is quick to move back after the initial assault to stand a little in front of the space family. “Focus on keeping them form getting closer. Someone else can take the hoards behind the front line.” He said as the Magnezone beeped loudly in acknowledgement. [break][break]

Weird noises began to emit from the Magnezone as it lowered itself slightly to the ground, eyes glowing as it Locked On as directed. Magnets spun and machinery seemed to be moving before light began gathering t the antenna before blasting forth as Joules unleashed a Flash Canon attack. Not satisfied with the effect, which had been decent enough, the Magnezone moved in close, hovering right over its prey and forcefully dragging them out of the way of hoard to finish with its Magnet Pull ability. as fernando surfaced, francie had finished cleaning off her piece. she twisted it over in her hand a few times before holding it out for fernando to see.

"it's the top of a fossil, from what i can tell. worth keeping my hands on just in case i can find the bottom somewhere else. though, pity, cause the bottom's probs down there where the top came from..."

the rumbling caught her off guard. it sounded familiar, like burrowing. her own excadrill, wilbur, makes the same noises inside a cave.

"...if we don't want to be caught up in the chaos, we'd better get a move on and head away from the group."

it wasn't rare to end up disrupting a bunch of pokémon while searching for goodies in caves, but it was also as easy to avoid if one timed it well enough. so without much thought, she took fernando's hand and glanced around, heading off toward their guide.

"@cat's this way," her lycanroc quickly moves ahead, using a CRUNCH against a small drilbur that had tried to cross his trainer's bath. "best stick close to her, since she's leading the way."

her lycanroc managed to find something while chomping on the drilbur, but he keeps it within his maw until he knows his trainer is safe enough to investigate.

Water drips from her form as she resurfaces from the frigid depths, clutching in her fist a small stone that quickly makes its way to her pockets. Polaris follows soon after, its blue glow reflected a hundredfold in the walls around them.

Her clothes are mostly dry by the time she wanders off again, stepping away from the main group to find her fortune where prying eyes couldn't see it. She nearly bypasses a smaller group, stopping short at the sight of gemstones being pulled from the walls by psychic powers. 

Huh.

"If it follows after us, I'm sure it'll find its way out eventually." The captain casually takes a gemstone for herself, turning silver eyes to luka chêne , Dominic Grey and paxton concordas . Shrugs. "Or someone could catch it." 

Skyler herself has her fair share of Minior, caught during a Minior shower in Alola. They would've died otherwise, but this one at least seems adequately protected from suffering the same fate. 

Thoughts are put to the side as the earth rumbles once more beneath their feet. The incoming horde of Excadrill and Drillbur finds resistance immediately, to which Skyler adds with a carefully aimed Surf. 

Hopefully it wouldn't hit anyone else in the vicinity.
