Feet dangling into the warm Hoenn waters, Hide lay on his back on a worn out dock. There was a fishing rod jammed between two planks of wood, but the researcher was more focused on blocking out the sun with his phone. Occasionally he let out a quick snort through his nose as he browsed the comments on his blog.

Napoleon sat beside him, aimlessly bobbing his feet. Getting bored, he hopped up with a cry and quickly dove into the water. Barely a minute later, he popped out of the water and back onto the dock with a fish in his mouth. Pulling himself up, Moriya congratulated his Piplup as it gobbled down its catch in one big gulp.

Stowing his phone, he looked out over the calm sea. "Pretty dead today, huh, Leon?" Before he'd even finished his sentence though, he was proven wrong. The waters became churned as a swarm of pokemon passed by underneath. The dock's boards began to creak as the fishing rod's line was pulled taut. "We've got something!"

Grabbing the rod, Hideyoshi pulled back hard and began to reel. Napoleon dived into the water to help, beginning to peck at the mystery pokemon. Suddenly the fish swam the other way, causing it to be yanked straight out of the water and onto the dock. Scrambling away, Hide fished a ball out of his bag and threw it at the flopping fish pokemon.

Yvette had no patience for fishing, but her scuba gear had yet to be unpacked and the swarm would only stick around for so long.

Luckily, there were quicker ways to get what she wanted.

”Ready down there?” She called to her fancy new Qwilfish. He only replied with a gloomy glare. Well too bad for him. This was a perfect opportunity to catch something new, and test out his new fire power.

Like the old saying goes; two fish, one bomb.

”Alright, take em out!” The pufferfish sighed as he sunk beneath the waves. After a few moments of silence, the water exploded into a spray of sea foam, and several Alomomola floated to the surface with painful-looking barbs imbedded into their sides.

Now to see which of them were worth catching…

The swarm was likely to only last for so long, and frankly, her expertise in water pursuits was... limited, to put it mildly. There was nonetheless something freeing in being part of nature in this simple way. Even if she didn't catch anything, it was a pleasant way to spend a morning.[break][break]

Wordlessly observing the ocean from the back of his Lapras, the two cruising at a leisurely pace, Klaus hums absently along with his music; his fingertips idly drum against one of the shell spikes he sits behind, his arms crossed over its top and chin resting there comfortably. Klaus's magenta-red eyes fall half-lid as the sun washed over him, the man nearly falling asleep until the warbling trill of Anwhistle draws his attention.

"Yeah, yeah," Klaus mumbles out with a good-natured grousing. Rummaging through his pack, the young man pulls out a collapsible fishing rod which he pieces together. Deciding to be utterly lazy for his expedition, Klaus attaches a pokeball to the end of the line and tosses it into the water. If he failed to catch something, so be it.

Settling onto his Lapras's back again, a soft, contented sigh spills from Klaus's lips as he observes the sun glow upon the ocean, the shimmering silver light shifting and dancing like the scales of some great leviathan. His breath evening out, Klaus slowly falls asleep as he fishes, his dreams filled with jumping Magikarp in place of Wooloo.

Normally, Siri would stay within his room most of the time, glued to his computer setup and doing most of his shit online.

However, there were rumors flying around of a certain weird Pokémon that caught his fancy—and so he’d ventured out of the Black abode on the back of his Noivern.

…why did it have to be out in the water?! And why was it so far away from Slateport?!

Well, at least he was getting ‘fresh air’ (as his annoying siblings termed it), flying out and tracking the location of this strange Pokémon via his smart watch…

“…it’s a Water-type?”

So swept up he was in his observations he’d very nearly missed being shot out of the water by a passing Sharpedo. Oops!

The sudden swerve in mid-air made him look up, only to see the retreating shark Pokémon snickering…

“…rude.”

The beach was warm and the sun was a joyous, golden beacon in the azure sky. The sound of Wingulls crying as they looped, playing on the rising thermals, was echoed by the gentle din of beachgoers enjoying the afternoon. CJ stood just beyond the tidal line, shirt off, one hand on their hip, other on a ratty old fishing pole, watching their Pokemon play dodge’em with the gentle waves lapping at the shore.

This was a rare moment for them. They had a… sacred, but complicated, relationship with bodies of water. Jeannie’d lived in fear of them, more strongly so after her diagnosis, and so they were best avoided. But CJ longed for the joy of the sun and the swell of the surf and so now, inhaling deeply of the thick, salt air, they felt both heavy sadness and a serenity in their bones, warm and buzzing.

They walked down a dock, making sure not to step on any fishermen’s lures. Out at the end of the dock, where the water was deepest, they could see the swarming Alomomola, shadows beneath the surface of the sea, but their tiered heart shapes were unmistakable.

“How so-fish-ticated,” CJ said, when Kinnick, Agate, and Yaz came up beside them. Kinnick made a noise like hocking up a hairball, and CJ laughed. “What? If you’ve got a betta pun, I'd love to hear it.” and the Jolteon full on yowled this time, swiping at their leg. CJ cackled and sat down on the dock, basking in the sun with their Pokemon, and dropped their line in the water, waiting for something to give it a tug.

Out of all the activities he indulged in, many didn’t think Toshiaki would like fishing of all things. After all, it's an activity that requires immense amounts of patience. Still, nothing could beat the feeling of his feet submerged in the water below, the crisp fresh air, and the Growlithe barking happily by her trainer’s side.[break][break]
“How we doing, Topaz? See anything?”[break][break]
The fire dog barks and wags her fluffy white tail, before shaking her head. Toshiaki grins. “Don’t worry. We’ll get a bite soon. I feel it!”[break][break]
He felt apprehensive taking her in at first. She came to him in one of those weird space-time distortions, after all. But they’re great friends now. And in turn, it filled a great void that had been affecting his life thus far. For a brief moment he wonders if his uncle, @warren , would be interested in fishing together sometime. He knew a great Magikarp fishing spot![break][break]
He bubbles up cheerfully at the thought, before feeling a tug at his line. Topaz barks and Toshiaki begins reeling it in, nice and steady with some force to it. [break][break]

Well, an incident like this merited a fishing afternoon. The best thing to do would be to try and do a study of the fish to see if they were affected at all by the recent anomalies beyond the surface level. Hopefully not, but the best thing to do was to check. So he had popped in with a fishing rod and plopped down with some snacks, some Pokemon to keep him company, and a good old bait and tackle.

He just hoped that this wouldn't take long. What kind of fish would it be considered anyway? Rainbow trout?

Sitting on the back of his Wailmer, Velma, Temp hummed to himself as he floated on the water. Many trainers were out here for the Swarm... but he was out here for the conservation. Someone had to make sure the ones that didn't get captured made it safely to wherever they were going!

Still, the flash of fins in the water... it was tempting. Temp could always use more Gym Pokemon, since his were pretty limited... and he didn't catch that many, anyway....

Shrugging, Temp pulled out a pokeball and tossed it at a sudden flash of water. Just because he was working didn't mean he couldn't try and join in on the action!

As those close to him would likely know, Mars happens to be rather fond of fishing, and sometimes, when he has time and the weather calls for it, he goes on a nice fishing trip out in the peace of the water routes.

So, in truth, it’s by coincidence that he encounters the Alomomola swarm when it appears, because as much as Mars may like fishing and fish pokémon in general, fishing for Alomomola is another story altogether.

For once in her life Melody was actually reading a book on alomomola's. Why the hell did they look so weird? Melody always found them to be interesting looking...they looked like an ancestor to luvdisc or was the term predecessor? Melody didn't really know, she wasn't the brightest bulb in the bunch nor was it really her job to! This was a needed time away. Barnaby had fled to the coast for the weekend to clear his head, to recenter, to disconnect. If only for a little while. The sea always seemed to call to him when he was at his lowest.

The waves were calming and, while he watched from the shore, the lulling sound of rhythmic swelling water harkened to a bittersweet time long past.

In the distance a school of ALOMOMOLA leapt from the ocean, flying for the most fleeting of moments. Then, as all things do, they fell back to Earth. Within the confines of the sea the brightly colored fish swam in unison together, their dorsal fins cresting the surface of the water.

priam sits on the back of his lapras with a fishing line on the water. he chills on the water, waiting for a bite, before it dawns to him that he doesn't need to wait for fish to bite.

there was a whole school of alomomola on the water right in front of him. the only thing he needs to do was throw some pokeball and hope it captures one of them.

the one thing that got it sold to him was when one of them looked at him straight in the eye.

he thought he was hallucinating, but he's pretty sure there's some anime girl mixed in with the fishies out there. they're all the same shade of pink anyways, so there was no difference between the two fish.
