yet once again, jayden found himself in a place that he would ordinarily never be in. yet when he had traversed the beach, he had somehow been embroiled in a situation he couldn't get ahold of. once again, a random npc character had dragged jayden along the beach and pushed him along into a mysterious line.

[break][break] 'there you are — we've been looking for you! the rest of the contestants are already lined up!'

[break][break] "uh —"

[break][break] 'honestly! they should pay me more, having to find all of you — here. stay here!'

[break][break] dumbfounded, jayden found himself on the line. looking down at himself, it wasn't hard to imagine why he had been mistaken for a contestant. after all, he was in swimming gear. he was wearing the same outfit he had worn at HST — the noah faber ™ patented swimsuit trunks that had been advertised at the competition. they were comfortable and still in good condition, so jayden did not see a reason as to why he shouldn't.

[break][break] soon enough, he was pushed to the front of the line. sunlight gleamed in his eye, heat rolling down his back in waves. the training he had done at kanto and since then had paid off well, his abs visible as he walked down the runway. at the end of it, he blinked, unsure what to do. one of the contest gestured wildly at him from the sidelines, and he mimicked their posture, flexing his biceps just long enough before walking back down the runway.

Excess and extravagance were hallmarks of any competition meant to highlight the beauty of something. Here, contestants were expected to flaunt themselves and their swimsuit attire using the provided props. This round, OCTILLERY had been brought out to either side of the stage to shower it in a torrent of water.

Perfect. An idea immediately sparked in Barnaby's mind when he saw these particular conditions.

Releasing his STARMIE, Evangeline, Barnaby allowed them to waddled ahead of him on the runway. They'd already choreographed their plan backstage, so as soon as their turn commenced the Pokémon acted right on cue!

Artificial rain from the OCTILLERY fell from the sky; instead of letting the water completely soak them, however, the STARMIE sprayed SCALD ahead of their walk, rending the cool droplets into an aesthetic mist. A reflective vapor immediately plumed around Barnaby like a STEAM ERUPTION.

Without missing a beat, Evangeline then summoned a COSMIC POWER to the stage, its prismatic light casting a multicolored effect onto the mist. The culmination of his Pokémon's efforts made it seem as if Barnaby himself was walking through a swathe of rainbow clouds.

Between the mist and the artificial rain provided by the OCTILLERY, droplets of water clung to his skin, making it look as if his entire body was adorned in jeweled beads in a kaleidoscope of colors. It made for quite the exquisite display as Barnaby concluded his strut down the runway.

KASHA practically demanded that she join this. The LIEPARD was very prideful of her beauty, and loved to strut her stuff. Cade, on the other hand, wasn't so keen about the whole thing. On the other hand, the prize money he might win as a result of participating in it could feed him for a few months...

And he'd just bought a nice new pair of swim shorts, too. So why not show them off, right?

If he'd learned anything about models, it was that their job was surprisingly easy: just walk down a runaway and pretend the audience doesn't exist. Pretend you don't care. Look serious and take your steps confidently. Maybe add a bit of flair when you reach the end.

So he does just that-- his Liepard doing it far more naturally than he-- before attempting a pose that he only ever saw in a manga once. Who would guess that Cade Atreides read manga? And who could have guessed he'd pull off the pose as well as he did?

An awkward hush falls over the audience when the time between performances stretches unusually long. A distant yowl meshes with the sound of overhead Wingulls, followed by the sound of breaking glass and a heartfelt curse.

Not two seconds after, a soaked blonde figure is all but shoved onto the stage. Catching herself on bare feet still coated in sand, Captain Dross blinks against the midday sun's glare. Holding onto her shoulder for dear life is the most puffed-up, deranged looking Galarian Meowth to ever bestow Hoenn with its presence, malicious yellow eyes spelling murder for anyone who'd dare meet them.

Atop his furry head is a crumpled pirate's hat. 

Crystalline droplets of salt water dance meandering paths down the length of Skyler's sun-kissed torso, cresting over defined muscles and a glorious collection of scars. Teasingly disappearing under the hem of swimming shorts riding low enough on her hips as to be near indecent.

Skyler seems wholly unconcerned about it.

Atop her head of unruly, untamable curls is another pirate hat slightly askew - like that guy from the famous pirate movie, Jack Spearow. A halfway empty bottle completes the haphazard ensemble.

The captain takes a generous swig from it, lips quirking into a smirk when she spots Aunt Jules in the crowd. Ah, so she'd been the one to yell "Shake that ass, hot stuff!" to angelo vestri and Martín del Mar . That television guy too. BARNABY FINCH ?

As if in synch with her thoughts, a familiar voice pipes up from somewhere in the crowd. "Work it, girl!"

She stalks the length of the catwalk with wide, purposeful steps that lend themselves less to elegance and more to the sheer physicality of her presence.

No clever displays or fancy effects prelude her exit, but she slowly runs her tongue over her teeth while surveying the crowd - lips pulling into a slow, devilish grin. 

Hooking her finger under the pirate hat, Skyler throws it over the crowd for someone to catch with a wink, and promptly exits the stage.

On her shoulder, Dorado still exudes his murderously unique kind of charm.

why in the ver living hell would someone design this kind of swimsuit? [break][break]

why in the ever living hell was she wearing it?[break][break]

it's tight. comfortable, but still tight, specifically around the chest area. the darkened parts of the swimsuit do a great job at hiding and covering up the sensitive parts, as a normal bikini would, anyways, but this was.. something. she can't believe that she was given this, can't believe that she was told to wear this. when she said she wanted a one piece, she didn't mean something that was still transparent to show off her stomach and her back. [break][break]

but if not for her, then why would her wooloo be so excited to hop onto the stage, too? unlike mari, who felt half naked, the wooloo's fleece was shining bright for everyone to see. when she walks onto the stage, embarrassment rises to her cheeks. for once, the eye patch has been removed, and she's left with her hair tied up into a higher ponytail - less to hide beneath the ashen locks. [break][break]

she still has a sun hat, though, which casts a shadow over her face as she carefully walks down the runway. she just needs to walk, strike a pose, then walk back. that's easy to do, right? [break][break]

right, so she takes a deep breath and makes smooth strides down with a wooloo who waddles at her side, she doesn't know what pose to give, so she only raises a hand to rest over her chest, and gives them a slight (albeit nervous) smile with the tilt of her head, and the gentle tug of her hat. her wooloo on the other hand lets out a hearty cry, doing a little spin around before they go on their ways back. [break][break]

and when she returns, she holds her chest, and nearly collapses to her knees with the wooloo ready to catch her. [break][break]

man.. that's too much anxiety.

bo showed up shirtless in swimming trunks—black with warm colored accents. he was not accustomed to modeling, but what more did one need than to be broad-shouldered, tall, and thicc with ranger muscle? maybe the office hours and donuts had packed on an inch or two following his promotion, but there was more to love, and the gym kept him plenty fit.

that, and those delicious maher genes.

“strut, pompy. like we practiced.”

his heatran, pompeii, raised its head a little higher beside him, legs bowing wider, hips moving side to side. brilliant, like a dog making its way to a good spot to scratch its ass.

bo did a little better, even going so far as to add some flourish in his turn with an awkward wave of his hand.

on the way back, he grinned down at his stony, lumbering partner.

”we are hot as fuck, dude.”
