This January, the lush greenery of Route 119 has been transformed into a winter wonderland. For the past two years, Galarian Darumaka have been coming here in droves to build snowboys, and this year is no exception. However, this time around the festivities are far more coordinated. The Pokemon Ranger’s PR rep, Miss luka chêne, has recognized the snowboy event as a popular gathering place for locals, so she and her fellow rangers are capitalizing on the opportunity to ring in the new year– and have a blast doing so![break][break]
It’s a new year after all, and with it comes untold possibilities. ‘New year, new me’ as the saying goes, and what better way to exemplify this platitude than with the ranger’s amnesty program? This event has been coordinated in order to showcase the benefits of the program, and to help assuage the doubts that civilians and other league members might have about former rockets reforming themselves. Many of the volunteers at the event are amnesty members, though of course they haven’t been singled out. After all, the point is to make them feel welcomed into the rangers, not ostracized. Some, however, are more noticeable than others. Remiel Calcifet stands out of course, and his generous donation to the cause is what makes much of the day possible. [break][break]
 Of course, there are several others who have made invaluable contributions. Nothing would be possible without ollie morales, of course! And other amnesty members, such as Isaac Merlo, have lent their talents to the cause. In order to protect rocket defectors, Luka has hired several League officers, including Navy and Tai Liu, to provide security. Many of Remiel’s dragons also help patrol the area, though some of them seem more keen on sneaking treats from delighted children or napping next to the bonfires that help keep festival-goers warm.[break][break]
It's taken a lot of work to pull everything together, but once the stage is set, everything feels worth it. Now, all that's left is to wait for people to arrive and take in the wonderous sights before them.

THE FESTIVAL BEGINS
Snow-covered trees perimeter a clearing near Hoenn’s Weather Institute. They all sparkle with glittering fairy lights, encircling the festival in a warm and comfortable light. Within the clearing is an array of food stands, where festival-goers can indulge in all kinds of treats. There’s warm cider, hot chocolate, and mulled wine (for the adults!), Dipplin themed caramel apples, gooey mochi, and bowls of piping hot soba noodles, among other things! Vendor stalls sell masks, homemade crafts, and a variety of dragon-themed goodies for the new year. A small shrine has even been erected, reminiscent of the Draconid shrine that rests in the Dragon’s Den.[break][break]
At the center of the clearing is a large ice rink, formed courtesy of Isaac Merlo. Skate rentals are available for anyone who’d like to take a few laps around the ice! This isn’t the only service Isaac has graciously provided– with Luka’s aesthetic sensibilities and his talents combined, he’s created an array of gorgeous, intricately carved ice sculptures that stand guard around the festival. In keeping with the theme, they all resemble dragon type Pokemon. Amongst their number are elegant, undulating Dragonair, fierce Salamence, friendly-looking Drampa, cute Tatsugiri, and an enormous serpentine Rayquaza.[break][break]
 However, the main attraction is still the snowboy building contest! A vast field of white serves as the stage, and the snow is perfectly packable to build snow sculptures, or to throw snowballs at unsuspecting friends! A group of Galarian Darumaka and Darmanitan patrol the fields, observing the snowboys being built and offering their critiques. They seem eager to play along with those that want their help, and the fields sing with a chorus of happy chatter and bubbling laughter.[break][break]
The festivities are already underway, but just barely. Before things get too out of hand, ollie morales steps up to make an introductory speech. As he crosses the venue’s open air stage, some of the chatter begins to die down, and eyes turn towards him.[break][break]
“Hey everyone! Hope y’all are having fun today!” The Head Ranger’s voice caries easily over the crowd as he stands onstage, wearing his usual charismatic smile. “Thanks for coming out! As you know, this is a celebration for everyone, but especially for those in need of a fresh start.”[break][break]
His green eyes flicker for a moment, reminded first of Isaac Merlo and Caleb Harcourt. “Thanks to everyone in the amnesty program for the work you do, and especially to luka chêne for pulling this event together. Let’s have a great new year together, everyone!”[break][break]
He grins, raising his fist in the air. [break][break]
“Alright, let’s have fun today!”[break][break][break][break]
ROUND ONE
Consider including the following prompts in your post to aid in snowboy rolls and earn rewards! Using a prompt from this round will also reward a regular gachapon ticket.[break][break]

SNOWBOY SHOWDOWN
An annual tradition at this point, the snowboy showdown is now beginning its third year! However, this year an entire festival has sprung up around the event, hosted by the rangers in support of their amnesty program. In this mega-thread, your character can interact with others and participate in the festival while they attempt to create the perfect snowboy![break][break]
Characters that succeed will be able to redeem a gacha pokemon, and there will be additional rewards for fulfilling weekly prompts. This year, the snowboy event will also include four rounds that will introduce new elements as well as new prompts to fulfill. Posting for each round will grant a small reward![break][break]
Rocket and League characters are all invited to participate. However, please be mindful when interacting with others! While tension and drama is totally acceptable (go wild!), please refrain from all-out faction conflicts or brawls simply due to the nature of the event.[break][break][break][break]
RULES
Include a roll at the bottom of each post to craft a part of your snowboy. You must obtain all four parts in order to make one perfectly and claim your reward!
Participants are welcome to post more than once per day, but can only roll once per day to build their snowman. You do not have to reference the building of a snowman in every post and may engage in other activities with your character and others.[break][break]
Including one of the weekly prompts into your post will allow you to add or subtract 10 points from your roll.[break][break]
All of your characters may participate in the event. Each character is eligible to earn all rewards, so long as the requirements are filled!
