Palafin swarm

"Aw... that's adorable." He said, leaning his arms over the stem of his bicycle's handlebar in order to peer down on some cute little dolphins splashing near the water's edge.

His quite appreciation of the babies was interrupted by a large splash, salty sea water hitting him in the face as a large, muscle bound Dolphin suddenly hero-landed before him, shoulders squared up as it flexed its pecs at him.

"That's terrible on the knees, you know." John said while sea water dripped down his face and hat, reaching into the bike's basket for a net ball.

FLOATING ALONG THE SLATEPORT WAVES ON HER SURFBOARD, Selena is waiting for the water to get a little harsher. The swarm of the Palafins and Finizens help create waves for her to surf, but nothing is quite large enough for Selena to ride. Because of the long wait, she is being entertained instead by a Palafin who poses like the PRINCESS OF THE AMAZON that it is at the other end of her board.

Surfing is her chosen getaway after a stressful weekend brought by her little trip to Galar. When she realized the past twenty years were nothing but a mere minute of her life in the real world, fatigue and stress comes crashing back to her. The only way to destress is to play.

And she hopes these dolphins will play with her even after today.

SWARM: PALAFIN - STARRY SUMMERTIDE

On the balcony of a hotel, overlooking the sea...

She was a silhouette against the golden rectangle of the bedroom’s light.

Bare foot, bare a few other things, she leaned over the railing and watched the swarm sputter by with a… less-than-enthused expression.

So this is just one of the many strange quirks of Hoenn.

She’d never actually had to catch a pokemon before. The others had been assigned.

So she straightened up, reared back her arm, and tossed one out like it was mjolnir, raring to return.

(And there was no arm hair, so there was no drag.)

Luke was not the type to cling to vestiges of the past. That, he felt, was strictly an old person thing to do-- and he was not an old person.

But the Palafin, and the Finizen around them, reminded him of home. He’d always been partial to their species.

Back home, he’d donated large sums of money to protecting waters and establishing marine reserves around Paldea. Like a venerable AQUAMAN-- if Aquaman was actually Bruce Wayne. Which, he supposed, was an apt metaphor.

He sat on his surfboard and watched them play in the water around him, taking a brief moment to reflect, though he would never admit to doing so.
