It was minute: the pause in his step; the recalculation of this shifted reality; the realization that something had eased its grip on her. [break][break]

He'd made the room semi-comfortable since taking on the role of administrator. It wasn't homey by any means, but there was a liquor cart to slake thirst and lubricate lips, a seating area for more intimate conversation, and a large, immaculately organized desk at the center of it all. [break][break]

This was where BARNABY FINCH sat as his fellow ROCKET strode into the room. Immediately, it was obvious that something was a little off about Zev. The look on his face spelled trouble.[break][break]

"Of course," Barnaby assured, gesturing for the man to sit in the chair opposite his desk. "What is it that needs updating?"[break][break]

There was a spark of curiosity, thinly veiled, in the way he posed the question.

"I'm preoccupied with other facets of the organization." Which he would know to be ROCKET.[break][break]

GLASTRIER exhaled a deep wicker just then, announcing it was ready to move on. Perhaps it sensed Barnaby's desire to conclude the conversation as well; he wanted to be back home and retire in front of his warm HEARTH.[break][break]

"Well, it was a pleasure seeing you again, Julien, but I must be off. Now that I know you're in Hoenn I'll be sure to be in touch."[break][break]

As he reined his GLASTRIER to pass, Colombe swooped down one last time to pluck a small ARCHEN from a nearby tree. Barnaby captured both it and the NUMEL before riding back toward his stable.

Feather still in hand, BARNABY FINCH righted himself, the POKÉ BALLS on his belt jingling like Wintertide Bells as he did so.[break][break]

He then looked over mint frost's shoulder as the man shifted the energy scanner for the him to inspect. Just as he'd communicated, readings of various energies popped up, with infinity energy being the most abundant by a small margin.[break][break]

"Nothing out of the ordinary then, hm?" He'd hoped the GALARIAN MOLTRES would have left more of an impact on this place. It was an anomaly, but perhaps not anomalous enough for how little time it spent here.[break]

As Mint talked and explained and delved into the history behind the Legendary Pokémon, Barnaby listened intently, soaking up the man's offered knowledge. Some of it he was already aware of, some of it he wasn't. It was all impressive to hear nonetheless.[break][break]

"You've done your homework," Barnaby noted. "I appreciate that."[break][break]

He continued to twirl the feather slowly between his fingers — an idle gesture to focus his thoughts.[break][break]

"But I'm more curious about the origins of this creature." The owner of the feather. The one that materialized from THE VIOLET BOOK.[break][break]

"You were one of the few that saw it manifest, along with Zapdos and Articuno. What are your thoughts?"[break][break]

Would they align with Barnaby's suspicions?
