Neon's helmet can o ly do so much for so long agaonstthe polluted winds as the swarm sescends upon the 4ustboro. Even swappi g his kit, and adding onto the oxygen tank element, he's limited in his time out there. Still, its almost beautiful watching the poisonous powder coat every inch of the coty. He doesn't trust the people who seem to be testing out the air, i stea taking samples to study back in HQ.

"Dustox are kinda cute." He said to nobody in particular. Hey, isn't this kind of like a tokyo mew mew epiaode? Tokyo Mew Mew was all about the aliens using some type pf shit to attqck humans with, typically climqte change related. An episode on mind controlled poison bugs infesting a pulltant city would fit eight in.

More bugs... Hundreds of them it seemed, flocking to the city, covering every rooftop. At least the entire city wasn't covered in silk webs...[break]
Their numbers alone were terrifying, the sheer amount of Dustox and Beautifly that had descended upon the city felt like it could be more than could ever be found in Petalburg Woods alone. They were likely drawn in, as had everything else been, by the terrible toxicity that was washing over the entirety of Hoenn. Swaths of pollens and spores wafted through the air, some surfaces as slick and yellow as Butter.[break][break]
Moving through the air, face covered and eyes protected by goggles, Yuina mounted on Rasza's back as the Charizard swept over the skyline. The dragon pushed with her wings, beginning to create a Hurricane to try and start clearing out rooftop by rooftop, trying to rid the city streets of the pollen and spores before they settled too much.

He used the end of his pencil to scratch his head and let out a groan, "Poetry is dumb. I hate this class!" Nearby, his Farfetch'd marched back and forth with his leek and Knight looked at the poem he had written so far.[break][break]

Kay cleared his throat and read it aloud, "Oh to be a Butterfree... To Flutterby... Dairy free... And say goodbye to my Beautifly." Knight let out another noise of frustration and tossed the jotter away from him. He laid back on the grass and stared at the sky. The day was pretty nice, despite having Poetry homework, and Knight felt himself relaxed as clouds drifted by. Dustox shaped clouds. "Wait... That is a Dustox! A whole bunch of them!"[break][break]

Unsure exactly where Elise Calcifet is at this point, he sets a LIGHTNING STILETTO at the top of the tower to ward off the bugs with an ELECTRIC FIELD. Hopefully, the sight of it might act as a beacon to others.[break][break]

When a patrol of DUSTOX and BEAUTIFLY spot him and his Noivern in the sky, however, they attack. Guavafang is forced to fend off their attempts at pollination with a whipping HURRICANE, then cuts through them like a shrieking knife through BUTTER with her ferocious DRAGON RUSH.[break][break]

In the aftermath of it all, the prince attempts to capture one of these poisoned bugs for research purposes.[break][break]

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]The sight of the massive swarm of countless Dustox and Beautiflies, thousands upon thousands of them, all infected with TOXIC CHAINS, was enough to turn Aurelie's stomach. How in Arceus' name had the poison of the mochi managed to infect so many Pokemon? The sheer number of winged Pokemon festooned with noxious purple chains made the city of Rustboro look like something from a nightmare.

At least, the Skeledirge accompanying her was proving quite effective against the seemingly endless hordes of butterfly Pokemon. His TORCH SONGS and FLAMETHROWERS sliced through the fluttering Dustox and Beautiflies like a hot knife through butter, cutting wide swathes through the swarm. Puffs of smoke and ash followed the two of them as they sought to clear the air of the toxic menace.

Aurelie was grateful to see she wasn't the only one out here either, trying to combat the Dustox and Beautiflies. Other trainers were out here too, trying to fight or catch the chained Pokemon. It was a relief to know she and her Skeledirge were far from alone in the city, trying to clear it out and rid the world of a few more of those terrible TOXIC CHAINS.

Elise purchases a box set of Kimi no Todoke’s manga for her Calyrex to read, it was one of her favorite manga. One that was about a socially anxious and shy girl who’s seen as the titular ghost girl from The Ring because of her name. The guy that talks to her is nice to her and she’s willing to be more open like him, so she can make friends.[break][break]

When she sees the cloud of smog outside of the bookstore, the Galarian Ambassador goes outside in alarm. Charles the Calyrex follows behind her when she carries the bag with the box set of the manga in one hand. Swarms of Beautifly and Dustox fill the skies, people begin to panic on the streets.[break][break]

Releasing her saddled Glastrier, Elise mounts onto the icy horse while she gives an order to the High King. “Please help me redirect everyone else to the Galarian Embassy immediately!” [break][break]

To the scared Galarian people that lived in Rustboro’s homes, the ambassador calls out to them. “I am getting you all to the embassy for shelter, it’s not safe outside!”[break][break]

With Charles’ help, both the Galarian royal and the High King lead their people while Elise rides on horseback to where the Galarian Embassy stood. She already sees Remiel Calcifet helping to keep the swarming moths and butterflies out of the range of Galar’s territory.[break][break]

And she’d watch their people go inside the embassy’s building. Her Glastrier sends a Mist that attempts to clear the smog and make it easier for both her and elder cousin to breathe.[break][break]

“Thank you, cousin.” A relieved smile came onto the ambassador when she sees Remiel lend assistance. “I’ll be right back. I have to help our people get to safety.” She'll toss an empty Dusk Ball for catching one of the toxic chained bugs to have the league study it.[break][break]

Charles stays behind to use Aromatherapy in clearing the poisonous smog and wards off the flying insects with a mix of using Psychic and Energy Ball towards them.[break][break]

The princess and her Glastrier, however, ride across the streets to round up more of the Galarian people in order to take them in and help to give them shelter in the embassy.[break][break]

Watts barked playfully at the swarm of bug pokemon, but obediently remained at Jack's side. The Ranger could see the toxic chains even from this distance. A feat made more difficult by the haze of poisonous dust and spores released with every flap of a wing.[break][break]

"Nah mate, we'd be toast trying to get close in there. Toast with butter, even. Better to try to catch one from out here," Jack said to the Boltund as he patted his head. Taking an empty pokeball, he wound his arm back and tossed it as hard as he could.[break][break]

Maybe if I catch one, Naomi Sato or Neffatari Nzingha could study the chain.[break][break]

"Nah, brah, not having it he-hurrrrrrk," Beau offered in consternation, ending in a body-wrenching retch as he doubled over and gagged. He'd been on his way through Rustboro to the Dewford ferry, and the sudden outbreak of Bug-types had caught him (and everyone else in the city) by surprise.

He'd called out Nemo reflexively, ready to do his part in herding the pokemon back to something resembling their normal habitat, but the proximity of Dustox and the ensuing pollen being scattered with every wingbeat had rendered his already-fragile constitution from the repeated poison excursions a shivering wreck.

So it was that instead of boldly commanding his trusty companion to repel the insects, he couldn't even look up from his position on the ground, instead raising an arm and waving it half-heartedly at Nemo, urging him on. The Swampert looked at Beau for a long moment before engaging in something resembling a shrug and launching a ROCK SLIDE at the fringe of the swarm, driving many back and causing one Dustox in particular to fall to the ground.

As pollen spread over Rustboro, Thomas immediately pulled a mask up from his collar, pulling it over his nose and mouth, to filter out the pollen coating the city. It was enough to make it look like the Unovans skimped out on the butter they used in their cooking.

Spotting the source of the coating of spores, Thomas tossed a Pokeball towards the Dustox, hoping to put a stop to their madness.
