THE STORM PEAKS...

The howling of the wind rises to a fever pitch outside. The rain plasters the windows, darkening the already black night outside. The storm is at it's absolute strongest.[break][break]

If you can ride out this part of the storm you know you will be safe. It's only a waiting game, then, till the storm eventually peters out and you can safely leave.[break][break]

Walsh looks over the case briefing again as well as the clues you all have uncovered so far.[break][break]

"Something isn't adding up." declan walsh speaks aloud, to no one, with a tight frown on his handsome face.[break][break]

It seems there is still much for you to uncover as the night wears on...

TEA ROOM AND HALLWAY

The team room fills with small talk, Madam Peacock's body unable to join in. Yuina Higashi, Elise Calcifet, Remiel Calcifet, and Grigori Sokolov raise a lot of very interesting questions to one another- yet they aren't ones any of them can answer at this moment. A shame.[break][break]

Grigori continues to wash his eyes over the scenery of the room. Madam Peacock seemed to be a well traveled and adored woman right up until her death; many of the photos were awards for generosity and thanks from various charities. There were pictures of her and her family, as well, her, a stony faced man, and then their son happily in her lap in one. Yet, while interesting, it does eventually lead Grigori to come to a conclusion. He knows what Madam Peacock's TYPE is.[break][break]

Elise focuses down on the stain on the floor. It's still kind of tacky; given what is known about the murder, it should already be dry if it was anything normal. But, she does eventually parse out what it happened to be-[break][break]

It seems that chatter was right. This could be the smoking gun for the case to reveal who the killer was... but it does call into question the motive. That, perhaps, is why Yuina and Remiel take such interest in the teacup on the ground. At first glance it seems like a normal teacup that's been dropped, just broken and shattered, but there is something odd about it. Even if Madam Peacock had fallen from the chair it is much too far away from her body to make any sense.... and away from the stain. There also seems to be something yellow and fuzzy clinging to a few of the pieces, but it's hard to make out what it could be without more investigation.[break][break]

Unlike the last pass, this time the hallway does not go abandoned.[break][break]

Kouji Matsubara stops in the hallway, something about the carpet catching his attention. The first is very faint lines in the wood underneath. Something even the best polishing can't hide. Like a doorway has been opened here enough to catch on the floor in the same spot- but there isn't a door out here, is there?[break][break]

Strange stains are also soaked into the carpet. They were hard to make out at first, deep red on red, but the faint outline of drying... something is noticed.[break][break]

Ambrose Hendrix meets howard slayte in the hallway as well. Ambrose catches a nasty smell- and it's not himself after that quick workout with the Breloom. It's rancid and sickly sweet with rot. Howard flees right into the smell, too; with the work of their sniffers, they manage to discover some things.[break][break]

The smell is definitely something dead. It smells similar to how Madam Peacock's body is already starting to reek... but it's not from Peacock's body. It's something else, something here in the hallway.[break][break]

The three of them manage to put what they know together and come to the same conclusion. There is something hidden in this hallway. Now they all just have to work together and find it.

KITCHEN AND GREENHOUSE

The kitchen is thoroughly picked clean- even if most of the people involved seem more interested in torturing Navy's taste-buds than looking for actual clues.[break][break]

While Navy, Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki, and Isaac Merlo play in the spices, Mika Nakayama gets to work on sorting through Grace's purse. She does, eventually, find her wallet- stuffed full of large note bills. A picture of her and a small boy is shown- the boy looks sickly and pale, laying in a hospital bed. They both still smile wide at the camera, even if there is a lingering sadness in Grace's eyes. As sad as that may be, Mika does find enough evidence to conclude what Type that Grace is.[break][break]

Eris Halla happens to notice something peeking from under the hood of the oven. Pulling a stool over, she braves climbing up the metal chimney for a good look. It smells faintly like smoke up here and is leaves black grease stains on her fingers. Still, she ends up face to face with two faceted eyes that shimmer in the low light. The bug type crawls onto to the top of her hat. She comes out a little dirtier and with a VIVILLION as her new companion.[break][break]

Eris goes to deliver the pokemon to the officers. Meanwhile, Navy, Tsubaki, and Isaac set about to do something much worse than the murder- make the most disgusting sandwich known to man. All in the name of getting Navy to take a bite. They do, however, end up uncovering a clue in their messing around.[break][break]

The Cinnamon is sprinkled handily on pickle slices and peanut butter. Covered with so many other spices, it's almost easy to miss the
slightly off and cloying scent
. Or, the very slight shimmering sheen of purple glitter. Tsubaki and Isaac would realize it right as Navy went to take a huge bite of his creation- the Cinnamon was poisoned.[break][break]

If they manage to stop Navy in time or not is up to them- but since he isn't weak to POISON, the worst that would happen is he gets a crazy tummy ache.[break][break]

With that simple ingredient changed out, though, it does inspire you to maybe check the pantry for extra clues.[break][break]

In the greenhouse, while much progress is made- so far robin coello, mint frost, @adelaine, Gwyar Wledig, and a Rowan Wrynn don't have as much to show for it as their kitchen counterparts.[break][break]

Robin, Adelaine, and Mint don't find a smoking gun- but oddly enough, after some digging, they do find... cleaning supplies. Under many of the plants are washcloths, plastic bottles of cleaner, scrubbing pads. There isn't really a rhyme or reason to the placement and they seem to be hurriedly and randomly scattered amongst the plants. There are still a few more plants to search, though, and maybe a little more would help uncover something... or, perhaps, it had all been a waste of time. That was up for them to decide.[break][break]

Gwyar and Rowan, meanwhile, investigate the toolbox. The lock is snapped, not just left open. It would have been easy to miss. Inside, under piles and piles of tools are... letters. Love letters, it seems like. A quick scan doesn't reveal the sender or receiver, but taking the time to search a little more might uncover something interesting.

BEDROOM AND GYM

While the storm continues to rumble outside, Josh Devlin and ollie morales continue the search of Andrew's bedroom. With just the two of them, it's more work than they can finish on their own. That doesn't mean their searching is useless, however. While most of what they find seems to be random trinkets or just junk, a few letters are found scattered between the boxes. Who sent or received them is unclear, but they do all seem to be from the same person. A little more investigating will be needed to to parse out what they are, though.[break][break]

The group in the Gym do fare a little better, though the mess made is so large it will take more time than expected to clean up.[break][break]

Victoria Beckett finishes digging through the backpack. There isn't very much interesting inside; it seems than Andrea leads a very spartan life. There are, however, a few little clues hidden at the very bottom- under a very squished orange. After peering over what she's uncovered, Victoria can say with confidence that she now knows Andrea's Type.[break][break]

Cillian Quinn and @albrecht still endure howard slayte's presence until he flees. The two men work on picking up the mess, slotting the TMs all back into place. The case scans and beeps every disk that they place back inside, some mechanic inside of it. On a small screen inside the lip of the case, each scan also flickers a quick picture- some representation of the element of the TR inside. While the case is expensive, and the insides no doubt more-so, it seems these are all TR and not TM; each disk is a particular move with a particular type, unlike some of the more powerful TMs that can teach many things in the Hoenn they're familiar with. They also are useless after teaching the move.[break][break]

If this is useless or leading down a more solid evidence, that is up to them to decide.[break][break]

Perhaps this is what drives the man away. Perhaps it's the withering stare Cillian offers alongside his dry remark. Either way, Howard bolts from the room as if someone had shoved a live wire up his ass, and Cil's not bothered about it.[break][break]

Ambrose Hendrix leaves, too, and Cillian finally feels like he can relax.[break][break]

"If we look at it that way," Cillian says, in response to @albrecht, "everything is a potential red herring. We've already started cleaning up the mess... guess the best we can do is finish up."[break][break]

Finishing the inspection of the stain would give a clue that this was from tea laced with poison. The stain itself was also far away from where the old woman fell, so it probably wasn't what made Madam Peacock lose her life. While Remiel Calcifet and Yuina Higashi were working on the other clue, Grigori Sokolov gives his introduction to her, Yuina, and Remiel. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Grigori. My name is Elise Calcifet.” Her reply to the dark-haired man came with a little bow of her head and her hand to her chest where she acted in a very ladylike attitude fitting of her status as Galarian royalty.[break][break]

Noting that her cousin’s connection to Zekrom was severed in the distortion, she gives a nod to the other three people in the room. “I will take my leave to try helping in investigating the hallway for a little while, so I trust my cousin and you two to stay in getting more clues.” The dark magenta haired princess said before walking out through the tea room’s door and going down to the hallway. [break][break]

She finds two men and one of them who the familiar howard slayte doing their surveying of the hallway for clues. “Hello Howard, I did not expect to see you here, but it is good to see you again. I did find that the stain in the tea room was tea laced with poison, but I did not think it was the actual cause of death given that it was far away from where Madam Peacock fell.” After she speaks to the archaelogist, Elise gets to doing her investigating in searching for the hidden entrance.

the kitchen had turned out to be even livelier than mika thought. after sorting out grace's things, she glances up, and speaks to the others in the room once some of the chaos surrounding initial discoveries subsides. "i thought you looked familiar," mika says to Navy , a small smile on her face. she might not know everyone there is to know, but she tries to remember the league affiliates to the best of her ability. the sherriff and gym leader of dewford town is a hard one to miss, after all. "i'm mika, a ranger. nice to meet you, all of you." [break][break]

it's a general greeting given out to those in the kitchen. though mika still takes the time to mouth out the last name of Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki with her, quietly enthusiastic despite the fact that she can pronounce the other's surname just fine. and she spares a laugh at the spirited words of Isaac Merlo , grateful that he'd been kind enough to approach her, at all. (there is a nervousness to Eris Halla that mika not only understands, but sympathizes with. she tries not to make it any harder on the younger girl than she has to.) [break][break]

but they return to their discovery soon enough. she knows more about grace (her typing), and has discovered some personal things that suggest a deeper history behind the facade. that seems to be grace in the old photo, but as for the other figure in the picture and their significance to the current day problem, mika doesn't yet know. she simply reports her findings to the authorities, availing the information to anyone else that wishes to know. [break][break]

then the commotion in the hallway draws her attention, and mika drifts from the kitchen to the connecting space outside. there, several figures are already present, but among them, the only one that mika immediately recognizes is their fellow ranger Elise Calcifet . she nods at her in greeting, polite, before saying, "seems like you could use some help." and feeling satisfied with their previous task in the kitchen just now, mika gets right to work in the hallway, instead. [break][break]

Robin raised a brow at mint frost 's kitchen knife, but she supposed it wasn't a bad idea to be armed if there was a killer on the loose and they were all without their pokemon. She probably should have gathered some supplies herself considering how sideways the situation could've gone, but she'd attached herself immediately to the mystery at hand.

She shrugged at Adelaide Whiteley 's question. "I saw a lot of movement in the kitchen when I returned that Ferrothorn, but I was moving too quickly to see how it was shaking out. More people are interested in the kitchen than the greenhouse, though." Robin was certain, regardless, that there was something to find here, something key. Her dream couldn't have been total nonsense.

All they seemed to be uncovering, however, were cleaning supplies. "This looks so suspicious." She held up a bottle of chemical cleaner up to the light of the greenhouse to better examine the color of the chemical inside, but she had so little experience cleaning that she was pulling a blank. There were just so many things that were odd here, not the least of which that the shattered teacup seemed to be a little too far away from the Madam's body or the stain that Elise Calcifet was looking at. There was something on the broken pieces of the teacup though, and while there was definitely some clatter and chatter going on out in the hallway, Yuina wasn't convinced that she could leave just yet.[break]

Luckily, being right by a spice cabinet meant one's nose was already primed, trained, and ready to go. If this hallway thought it had any ugly secrets to hide, it would prove no match for the Ultra Kitchen Recon Squad!

A frown tugs at her lips as she begins to waddle off, faint black fingerprints left on the doorway as she touches it when she passes through. It's just a bit of a walk, she doesn't have to get anywhere near the foyer where Walsh was. As the storm reached its peak, so did Josh's distraction. It was not often that thunderstorms grew to be so intense. These were the kinds of storms associated with deities whose dominions were lightning. Staring out toward the black, lightning-filled skies, his mind wandered toward the Galar Memory once more, the day he got to be the hero of his dreams.

Shaking his head, he cleared his throat loudly. There was no time to be distracted - they had a job to to. "Hey ollie morales , are you almost done with these boxes?" Josh asked the Head Ranger. "I'm going to put the rest of this stack on the end of the bed, so it's easier for us to go through them." Once he was done with his share of the heavy lifting, he began rummaging through them one at a time. "There's a lot of letters addressed from the same person. If you see any more, hand them to me, okay? I want to keep them all in one place."

She quickly slaps the sandwich onto the floor before Navy can take a big bite of poison powder, letting him be mad at her if he wants. Better that than he poison himself.[break][break]

"Me!?" Tsubaki shoots back at Isaac Merlo , eager to distract from the sudden spiking of Navy's darling sandwich onto the dirty floor of the kitchen. "You're the guy dumping 'mystery' everywhere, aren't you?"[break][break]

She's prickly, like a rose with thorns. But she brushes it off quickly enough. Merlo's great at finding his way out of a volcano, maybe, but he just can't appreciate art when he sees it. She'll have to enlighten him at some point.[break][break]

She glances over at Eris Halla , with a Vivillon riding atop her head.[break][break]

"... Any chance those scales are poisonous, miss?" She asks the bug pokemon casually, not mentioning how strange it is that there's a pokemon in the hood of the stove, but before it can answer it's carted away by Eris and Isaac into the hallway where some commotion besets them. [break][break]

"Another body...?"[break][break]

Tsubaki looks to Navy quickly, before she runs toward the hall. In the crowd and the commotion, though, she trips and falls toward a table, using it to brace herself. [break][break]

Tori had been engrossed in investigating in her own little corner of the gym that she had barely paid any mind to the commotion around her. Instead as she shuffled through Andrea's things some more she finds out it's pretty much a dead in. Nothing really of noteworthy here in the gym bag. [break][break]

When her hands managed to touch something squishy, soft, and wet, she'd almost had enough and called it quits there. Resisting the urge to chuck the bag of grief across the room. Upon closer inspection however she realized it was just a squished orange. However, the orange wasn't the interesting part, but rather the contents buried beneath. [break][break]

After she was finishing rummaging around Andrea's bag she found herself sure of one thing only, Andrea's typing was FIGHTING. With a heavy grunt she pulled herself to her feet just to take note of the mess that lied further in the room. Where Cil had once been pouring over the TM case, now laid a strewn out mess. [break][break]

Victoria approached slowly this time, still rubbing her aching jaw from where Cillian had struck her earlier. Considered it a lesson learned the hard way. She wouldn't hastily approach him again. "I didn't find much in my corner of the room." she spoke to announce her presence before she approached both Cil and @albrecht, catching the tail end of their conversation.[break][break]

Bending down to hand them a TR that had rolled near her boot. "Figured out Andrea's typing, dunno if that would be of help of narrowing down the list of potential suspects regarding the missing TR." She said as she stood back to her feet. "She's a FIGHTING type." she said as she crossed her arms across her chest once the last of the spilled TR's was collected.

Hazel remains silent as Cillian Quinn reprimands the other man. He only watches with mute curiosity to see what Howard might do, but he seems to take the cue and scrams not long after. He lets out a short breath, amused and exasperated all in one. "What a mess." It's not the pile of TMs and TRs he's referring to, though he supposes that those don't help matters much either.[break][break]

"Fair point," he remarks, continuing to stack the mess of tms into neat piles. Sorting them by types so that they can be returned to the shelf with quicker ease. The storm outside lashes with angry fury. As if trying to hasten them to figure it all out sooner rather than later.[break][break]

He eyes the empty spot, "That has to be important, right? Maybe we should have checked that breloom's stats before we handed it over." That only makes sense, right? That the pokemon hiding there was taught the mystery move?[break][break]
