why is it important?: it's important because it finally gives king some answers into what happened that day five years ago when MATIAS SILPH came back from a mission solo. it brings king to a breaking point, realizing that he was betrayed first by his best friends, and has sent him on a warpath to bring MATIAS SILPH down.

in any way possible.

this also happens to cause wide-spread damage to the aquarium, but most importantly, puts Eva Morales (league's head scientist) into king's path, ultimately leading king to strike against her when she's alone, to get back at matias. (which you can read HERE)!

why is it important?: it's the first meeting between GABRIEL BLACK and freya morningstar, as well as a closer look into what exactly a councilman's duties are. she informs him of the avatars, and the ever growing need (seemingly) for them, as well as serves him a warning in the same breathe. her actions, and words, give the man an insight into FERNANDO SILPH as well, and how the man is more than he might appear, to get zealots like her on his side so feverishly.

why is it important?: Summer Atreides establishes a firm friendship with Martín del Mar. it is significant for her given that she doesn't have many friends and finds making friends difficult to do. it is also one of the first times she confesses to someone her feelings for Casey Fincher and what potentially happened at the star soiree, leading to their relationship forming later on.

why is it important?: a plot arc ends so another can begin. chu-e is dead. his body refuses to accept that. something is on the loose.

EVERYTHING IS BLUE

thread summary: takes place during the wrap-up of the star soiree event thread in which stormy is escaping the ball following surviving her attempted assassination. overwhelmed and afraid, she searches the crowd for one person in particular for guidance and comfort: FERNANDO SILPH. she explains to him what happened to her and to moltres and the disappearance of the bird after the fact. he brings her to his home to decompress and recover, where she would ultimately stay for the next couple of weeks.

why is it important?: this thread is a pivotal moment for stormy's character development. she has spent her entire life fighting to be seen and to be strong. she has grown comfortable and confident in her current position as one of the region's strongest trainers, bonded by fire and blood with a legendary pokemon -- only for nearly all of that to be wiped away in the span of seconds as a result of outside influence. she was almost killed because she let her guard down, and now a piece of her is missing with no real promise of it being given back to her. she is lost and now struggling to reconnect with who she is without her avatar bond. she has forgotten that she was once a person, and she had been strong without moltres before- and she can be again.

thread summary: Exhauated after several sleepless nights, Killian heads to the kitchen for coffee and finds Alexandra Briarwood. They discuss the toll his hunt for Deoxys is taking on him, and the price it'll ask for helping him.

why is it important?: Further cements Killian's downward spiral into obsession over Deoxys and his willingness to do anything to keep Lex safe.

AZALEA

thread summary: Hideo Kino finds himself caught in another dimension (without being aware of it) while within the Tree of Life, bumbling his way around until he finds Eris Halla , who's in an emotionally vulnerable spot without Reiner. Hideo suppresses his own anxiety long enough to help her focus, and the two work together (along with their Unown) to find a way out.

why is it important?: By focusing on the needs of someone else, Hideo was able to suppress his own fear of being lost in the unknown long enough to help solve his situation. In the process, Hideo proves himself to be a pillar of emotional support to Eris, at a point where she seems to really need it.
