Good, the doggos were safe... for now. Another legendary quartet entered the fray. Andrea wasn't that familiar with the four ruinous Pokémon, and she couldn't tell what they looked like based on their minisprites alone. She picked the one that had the most identifiable shape... A moose?

Oz reads through the prompts with a somewhat incredulous expression. Not at the idea of the great doggos of course. They were pretty sweet.

He mostly didn't understand how a leaf snail or a goldfish was meant to keep up with giant weapon-wielding puppers. After a second of debating between the last two, Oz made his selection. It was time for a cat-on-dog fight!

That was a really good answer, too, but the narration was, sadly, right. Julia wanted so, so badly to just leave the Pokémon be so they could live in peace. Digital Dahlia seemed to agree. But Rocket wouldn't let that happen.

[break][break]Now there was a video from the Hoenn Bureau of Intelligence and Counterterrorism. The Galarian Legendaries were fending off something odd—it might not have even been a Pokémon. Four strange creatures were laid out as choices: a leafy snail, a fiery fish, a deer or moose with a pot on its head, and... oh, the frosty cat with sword fangs looked cool, no pun intended! Julia picked that one.

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]Aurelie felt better for having chosen not to disturb the legendary canine Pokemon, especially after the report and video showing them fighting off something strange. She wondered if trying to capture them would have resulted in problems, if whatever they were fending off might attack the would-be captors. Of course, this was just a game, but it still generally made sense not to intrude when it wasn't necessary, especially if you didn't fully understand the situation.

It was interesting now that the player got a chance to choose the antagonist—or so Aurelie assumed from the in-game description–that the Council and the canine Pokemon would be facing next! She squinted at the colorful little options but didn't recognize any of them at a glance. I suppose I'll just be picking based on looks, she thought, frowning slightly.

While the white cat holding what looked like little icicles and the fiery fish both looked intriguing, they almost, strangely enough, looked too normal somehow for Aurelie's taste. They didn't look all that scary or monstrous, just kind of cool. The third one, on the other hand, just looked weird, in a way that she wasn't sure she could take seriously.

But that first one, that weird-looking green snail thing with floating swirls of scrolls... Now, that looked strange, alien, and threatening. Surely, that Pokemon would be a worthy antagonist. She knew that wasn't much of a rationale, but it worked for a quick decision for a dating sim game, she supposed.

For the briefest of moments, embers that form an elegant tailfin look like a blazing 'v'.

Ettie smiled gently, relaxing as Dahlia seems to accept the answer. She doesn't wholly understand everything that the otome has to say, but nonetheless, Ettie takes comfort in assuming that Dahlia doesn't want to hurt the legnedaries, either.

However, then a new report comes - and Ettie's eyes widen briefly at the shape that darts in and out of the fray, ice and darkness alike at its beck and call. That felid beast, from the Border - Ettie recognized it... And yet, this seemed... More solid, if anything. And it is fighting the two wolves with ferocity.

The four images below were of creatures Shalin has never seen before. All four creatures looked fearsome. Given her affinity for ride Pokémon, the snail-like creature and the fish-like one were out. That left the other two. Out of those, one looked like a staunch guardian, and the other looked like a fierce predator. That wound up being a very easy choice to narrow down. Whatever this creature was, she'd love to meet it someday!

Elinor watched the scene unfold. Canine Pokémon fighting something unknown. Something she had never seen before.

A sense of dread ran down her spine. The last time Legendary Pokémon were fighting something she hadn’t seen before was during the Darkest Day. She only hoped this game wasn’t prophesying something similar.
