Fighting within the tunnel, it was utter chaos, attacks were flying in every direction and it was everything Yuina could do not to get hit by anything flying around that was meant for the strange flowers that had flocked to attack. Daikenki slashed through as many as he could, his tera power was proving useful, and Yuina watched
Thomas Benoit and
DESIREE BLOOMS and their Pokemon work together in the fight.[break]
Trying her best, Yuina tried to keep the assaulting flowers away from the bear they were traveling with, it had done so much for them and had no one else to turn to but their group now. Especially as Yuina got a good look at the tattered fabric that was matted into its fur, it was plain to see that they were pieces of the same uniform... What happened to this person, where were they? It was likely they just.... Didn't survive being here in this place, especially if those zombies were out there and trying to get back to...where ever they were from. Had it been searching for its person in the swamp? It had dug up a body when they found it first in the swamp.... Yuina hated to think that that was their trainer, but the zombies had come out and attacked, and everything happened so quickly, she hadn't even thought about it then.[break] [break]
Her wonderings and her worries were enough to distract her, and the Ursaluna Removed bellowed at being struck by one of the assaulting flowers, but its pain was short lived as it was brought into a pokeball by someone in their group,
howard slayte, someone she didn't recognize. At least... It was safe for now, it couldn't get hurt if it was inside a Pokeball, but Yuina wanted to be sure to watch them carefully, the Ursaluna removed deserved to be protected after this was all over.[break]
Soon enough, the hoard of offending flowers dispersed enough for the group to continue on, though not without really getting run ragged from this whole endeavor. These swamps were treacherous, and she had no idea they would be going through all of this just to try and find a couple of missing persons that disappeared in an area... She moved forward with Daikenki who still shimmered in his blue sparkly energy, looking around for her friends as they finally had a moment in moving on.[break]
"Is everyone alright? This has been a lot," Yuina inquired, looking at
DESIREE BLOOMS and
Thomas Benoit, and
Genevieve Cromwell that she had just met. Her words were cut short though as they came to an opening in the tunnel, and they were greeted with really was a beautiful sight to behold.[break][break]
The entire cavern they'd found themselves in was like some kind of underground oasis, with mossy foliage that looked untouched, and glimmering crystals all over the place. And then there were these glowing plants, all in different colors that dotted the ground, it was incredible. Having found out recently what it really was, Yuina wondered if these plants somehow had
infinity energy or something of their own in order for them to glow with such vibrancy? They were truly beautiful. The beauty was short lived though, as a strange and definitely unsettling sight was in kind of the middle of the cavern, a dead body, of one of those blue zombies... And some kind of deep basin or bowl?[break][break]
The group began to disperse within the cavern, they now had room to move around instead of being clustered together within a tunnel, and in that almost quiet moment, having that brief, short time to themselves... Yuina's adrenaline for the situation was starting to taper off. How.... How was any of this possible, and how was she supposed to be prepared for any of this? This whole situation, and everything that she'd experienced in conjuncture to this moment, was... So much bigger than she could have ever fathomed? Zombies reanimated like from that Megalopolis City, some kind of blue aliens trying to kill them all to get back home, those jellyfish monsters that should have stayed in the Ultra Deep Sea... These were devastating happenstances, how was one person supposed to come to terms with it all, and still be okay? Still feel like their very existence wasn't threatened by all of these giant concepts?[break]
And from there her thoughts only continued to spiral, and she couldn't help it as she looked down to the patch that she held in her hands still. She stuffed it away in her pocket, she'd been clutching it nearly this entire time, but for what? Why did she feel like it was so important to her, that she should know more about what it was or what it meant other than just the meaning of the insignia. She almost cursed herself, she just...
couldn't remember, she couldn't remember anything from before a couple of months ago... But, part of her didn't want to? Had she experienced anything like this before? She wouldn't want to remember or relive something so terrible as this, but... Was she afraid then? Did she feel like she had to be, did she have the experience to know how to handle such giant concepts and be okay afterwards? And if she did, what would have happened to her that she was...?[break][break]
Yuina's mind was reeling, the longer and longer she spent in this new life, the wider and wider the split became of wanting to know what her past life was like, and not wanting to know in fear of ruining her life now... How could she justify being afraid... Of herself essentially? But how could she be afraid of herself when that life before could be filled with people who knew her and maybe cared about her, that could be missing her and looking for her? What if she found one of those people one day and... she felt nothing looking at them but they felt everything looking at her? Could she justify not wanting to feel those feelings just because she had this new life now?[break][break]
Trembling at this point, digging herself deeper and deeper into that hole, Daikenki growled beside her, nudging into her to jostle her a bit. She almost screamed, and jumped at the sudden contact, she'd gotten so lost in her own thoughts...[break]
"Oh, goodness... Daikenki... I'm okay, I promise," she breathed after a moment, but she was visibly shaken and barely keeping it together at best. She needed to focus, pull herself together, they were still in this cavern beneath the swamp, the situation at hand was still very palpable. Anything, focusing on anything was better than letting herself get lost in her thoughts, so she moved tentatively through the cavern, and she couldn't help but let her attention draw towards the large basin in the middle of the cavern, with the dead body beside it... She glanced at it for a moment, hoping it wouldn't come to life all of a sudden, but somebody had already moved into the immediate area around the basin,
howard slayte, the one who had contained the Ursaluna Removed. He was getting ready to...[break][break]
"Oh my gosh, no," Yuina gasped, moving towards him and the basin now.[break]
"Are you crazy? Don't you dare hit this thing? We don't know what it is, this could be some kind of base for a ritual that these zombies were trying to do, if you break it, there's no telling what will happen," Yuina admonished, it was just a straight up terrible idea, how could he even think that that was going to work out in their favor?[break]
She looked over the edge of the basin, inspecting it, half expecting it to be filled with blood or something equally as terrible, especially given the dead body within its proximity...
