EARLY JUNE, ANCIENT TOMB, ROUTE 120. The sun hangs low in the sky, drawing in the heavy, sombre orange hues of a Hoenn sunset. At the edges of its seemingly endless canvas, the sky begins to darken. The golden colours seem to fall into the descending beacon, like a drain threatening to suck the world of all its glow and color.[break][break]

Each faction has given direction to its officials. Civilians are advised to stay away for their safety, but those of heroic or naive hearts may find themselves disobeying:
"subdue both of the galarian dogs and their creatures of ruin at all costs. leaving the matters of an incoming calamity in the league's incapable hands will undoubtedly lead to sure disaster. that is why we must procure them for our use."

"protect the dogs and prevent team rocket from seizing them for their own devices. team rocket may very well aim to seek the pokemon of ruin as well. if an opportunity presents itself to destroy the hostile ruinous pokemon, do so without hesitation."

By the time you arrive by the ANCIENT TOMB, the ZAMAZENTA & ZACIAN have been fighting for some time. Their armored bodies, battered and worn by the scars and gashes of their battle, refuse to falter. Around them, boulders and rock formations that surround the ANCIENT TOMB have been damaged or entirely obliterated due to their battle with ruin.[break][break]

Those who have encountered digital manifestations of these heroes in CYBERCHASE CONUNDRUM would recognize them; others may surmise these are indeed Galarian legends, ones so endlessly shrouded in the foggy weave of myth and mystery. [break][break]

Yet, the events of THE DARKEST DAY IN GALAR ALMOST ONE YEAR AGO may have sabotaged their strength. After all, the foes they face are powerful creatures, rejuvenated from being sealed for epochs.[break][break]



THIS GROUP IS CLOSEST TO TING-LU. Though none of you may know its name, some of you may recognize it to be the cervid creature featured in RONDEZ-VIEW OF LUV: DAHLIA GOODE'S CO-OP ROUTE. Its digital iteration does it no justice.[break][break]

Curiously, 's CHI-YU, should it be on the field or offer any guidance to its avatar, would convey full encouragement... of taking its sibling down...[break][break]

The TING-LU exudes an ominous aura. One that chills the air as if to hang death upon its invisible currents. Its fast and lithe. With sinuous shape, the cervid clashes against the ZACIAN'S SWORD with its indomitable vessel, the ancient metal resonating eerily.[break][break]

The constant collision of shield against sword betrays the cacophony of war. Though the ZAMAZENTA is stubborn, the golden shield it bears on its breast begins to fleck off. When the metal particulate falls across the battle-torn ground, they are devoid of color however... instead, they fall as BLACK FRAGMENTS.

THE ZACIAN SEEMS TO BE KEEPING THE TING-LU at bay as it attempts to continue its dreadful march toward the ANCIENT TOMB.The canine is a relentless blade—but with your assistance, perhaps you will be able to turn the tide of battle.[break][break]

The sheer number of trainers may allow you to bypass these powerful Pokemon to reach the mouth of the ANCIENT TOMB, while others may be able to find opportunities to land a decisive strike on the TING-LU or even, the ZACIAN...[break][break]

The hair on the back of his neck stands on end. The clash of the sword dog against Ting-Liu letting out strange deep gong like sounds. The vibrations rattle his bones, and set his teeth chattering. Ting-Liu seems to use that to its advantage, letting out pulse after pulse of some kind of energy that tries to set his thoughts into a panicked frenzy and runs a chill down his spine. And yet he stands with . Protective gear and equipment on, if rushed. "Whatever you need, ma'am." he said, deferring to her if she had a plan. Until then, he lets out his Octillery. "Keep it from approaching!" he ordered as the Octopus pokemon began firing her attack. As if pulling form the FEAR it was putting out, she shoots an ICE BEAM straight at the target. [break][break]

The burnt scarred man couldn’t believe his eyes. The normal placid expression the man normally holds held a clear sign of disbelief. Despite the evident battle the has been raging on sense before his arrival, Maverick couldn’t help but fall into bewilderment at the sight of the two legendary dogs. Both strong. Both fearless. Yet as the double battle continued on and the sound of metal on metal rang in his ears, the ex gym leader was quick to gather himself and jump right into the fight without thinking.[break][break]

“Quick Azula,” the man shouted over the clashes and bangs of attacks colliding, “Let’s help Zacian.” Maverick didn’t know how or why they were fighting. And to be honest, he didn’t really care. Maverick was told to protect the dogs. And with him having an obsession over canine like pokemon, bet believe he wasn’t going to stand around doing nothing.[break][break]

The massive six foot seven HOUNDOOM followed swiftly after her human who darted to the same side of the Zacian, nostrils flared in an attempt to scent out the situation. And once on the correct side after dodging several attacks themselves, the pair faced the mysterious pokemon without an ounce of fear. In fact, the dark and fire type’s lips peeled back and muzzle parted. A nice set of pearls whites flashed at this four legged foe and a vile menacing snarl ripped through her throat.[break][break]

The Zacian and Ting-Lu fought hard against each other, the man being smart enough to wait for an opening before attack. The burnt scarred man was being sure to stay out of the sword dogs way, only to shout “SPRINGTIDE STORM” when the mighty Zacian had to take a step back to recover.[break][break]

The rapidash skull wearing hell hound threw her head back, muzzle parted to let loose a beckoning howl. A howl that was normally an eerie one when emitted by a houndoom called forth a heavy strong wind that only got stronger by the minute. Laced with lightness of fairy energy, the harsh vortexed wind attempting to trap the their foe in place and do some much needed damage to stop the strange moose looking pokemon.[break][break]

Upon having to resign his post as a political envoy of Galar, the royal princess of Galar was now the new royal Galarian ambassador and her first duty here, as told by the director, was to protect the legendary Galarian hounds from danger. Wearing protective combat gear to the battlefield, she had a black tactical vest and her shoes of choice were black crocs as she sees the magnificent forms of Zacian and Zamazenta battling it out in their armored forms. The deep energy waves from the bowl deer Pokemon put on the creeping feeling of fear in her chest though she did have to not show it much.[break][break]

Though she wasn’t here to marvel at their handsomeness, Elise wanted to know why they were both here in the Hoenn region which could mean different reasons. Releasing her Ceruledge out of his Pokeball, she gave Agravain his order to stop the strange deer Pokemon with an attack. “Keep Zacian safe, use Solar Blade now!” The dark knight Pokemon’s blade glows green as Agravain goes in to attack the deer Pokemon with a slash of its blade![break][break]

Out of most of the people here, she only knew two of them, but she didn’t have some time to talk when there was combat to do.[break][break]

The knight turned officer had his orders. The thought of destroying any Pokémon no matter what they did to warrant such an order made him cringe. However he had to follow the line of command. And if they told him to destroy the ruin Pokémon if he had to or got the chance he would do so. ”Copy that, I’ll do whatever it takes to aid Zacian,” he said into his earpiece.

His umbreon stood beside him. Ready to receive any order that she was given. Instead of just recklessly charging in he held back to take in everything that was going on. Seeing that they Pokémon seemed distracted with one another he started to move towards the other Pokémon. Adrenaline made his heard race and he was sure he could hear the blood roaring in his ears. He hadn’t been this keyed up since he had been unable to protect those he cared for. He took a deep breath to steady himself curling his hands into fist to stop their trembling.

Once he was close enough but not to close he watched the Pokémon awaiting his chance. His gaze caught sight of another guy attacking Ting-Lu in order to help Zacian. Or at least that was what he figured. He had to focus on his own actions not the actions of others though. Seeing an opening he took his chance. ”Selene use Dark Pulse,” he ordered quietly.

Selene having her orders readied up a dark pulse and sent it towards Ting-Lu. Him and his Pokémon would give it their all to protect Zacian even if it meant doing something that didn’t necessarily agree with. Hopefully it wouldn’t come to that though.

“They’re fighting over something.” Navy observed to when the order came down to join the League strike team. It’s another crisis. Another occasion to step into the ring. Another battle that needs to be fought.
“Don’t know what it is, but these guys didn’t decide to fight for no reason. There’s more going on here. See if you can slip past the fighting. I’m sure Lopez, Melody, and all the Rocket beasts will take the big guys’ attention. Let’s find some answers.”[break]
Only time will tell if she listens, or if he’s right. Navy steps onto the battlefield alongside the greats of the region. There’s plenty of old friends, fresh enemies, and faces he’s only seen on the news. Dewford’s newly appointed gym leader doesn’t have time to worry about any of that.[break]
He doesn’t have a sygna suit. He holds no avatar powers. This battle doesn’t begin or end with him. People charge off to attack the walking monument to ruin. Navy’s behind them. He doesn’t follow them onto the frontline. Not yet.[break]
Flora, his Blissey, is out. The rotund nurse looks to Zacian like she’s another one of the idiots - her loving, private nickname for those she heals. She’s covered with scars, old and new, this great hero. Much like Flora’s trainer, the great sword wolf seems to think the best defense is a good offense.[break]

Unlike many others venturing towards the Ancient Tomb and the clashing beasts, Brynnhildr's reasons for being there were -yet again- naught but chancing fate. Although leaps and bounds beyond the person she'd once been, she still had no place among the fighters. She knew.

But there was one who had. And although he had graciously told her about the threat so she could stay clear of the area, even preferring her staying home as to dodge any consequences entirely, Brynnhildr had followed him nonetheless. would have no idea she was now watching him and many others as they engaged with the cervid beast, looking for other ways to be of use. That, and to move around without the knightly police officer finding out she was doing exactly that which she wasn't supposed to do. She would be no burden this time.

Protect the dogs, repel both Rocket and these ruinous beasts. There's not much more than that; and she's plenty prepared, this time around. Her eyes narrow, slightly, beneath snow white locks. The field around the clashing beasts is littered in black fragments. Her eyes, fixated on the gleaming sword in the pokemon's jaw, watches as its metal flakes off with each contact. [break][break]

Fear is eminent and, to be honest, every hair on her body was standing on end. Were she not already well accustomed to the feeling of fear, maybe she would have caved (but she has more than herself to worry about if she doesn't return home; and that idea itself is scarier than anything this supernatural creature could throw at her).[break][break]

"Shirone," she commands hand atop of the ice pokemon, who has since grown since their last scuffle with the meteor "Protect the dog, and everyone else with Safeguard." the voice barking the order stays composed, only because she can stay a few ways away from the actual clash. A pulse of green emits from the NINETALES, shooting a beam of SAFEGUARD into the air, only for it to sprinkle down in bits of green. The sheen of soft green protects other trainers and pokemon from other status effects, although she wonders if it's enough to protect the pokemon from any rusting, or corrosion. Fear, palpable and overwhelming, engulfs him like a pitch black wave of nausea. He had felt this before, back when he faced Necrozma. Back when he faced Palkia. World ending terrors both, threatening to crumble his resolve to dust.

But he also knew how to deal with it. Within this terror, a spark ignites. The fear, insidious and pervasive, shatters his complacency, his thoughts of himself.

It wrenches him from the miasma of past reflections and future musings, it breaks his identities and self-doubts. And it hurls him into the terrifying now.

In the face of imminent threats, his mind races to his daughter. And how if he didn't stop this thing here, his daughter would feel the same as he did. And that was his Litany Against Fear.

This realisation, this fierce determination, does not cow him. Instead, it fortifies him, steeling his resolve, transforming his terror into a potent force of resistance.

Fear only ruins those who value self above all else.

With a swift, decisive motion, he releases his Umbreon, Tsuki, onto the battlefield. While the others struck, Callan took the time the others have bought with their attacks to provide Zacian the support needed. Callan's voice slices through the discord of the battlefield, "Tsuki, use WISH on Zacian!"

Tsuki responds without hesitation, casting her blessing onto the Galarian legend. Starlight illuminates from the Umbreon, creating a tapestry of light around the legendary dog, expanding upwards to generate a large star. In moments, the star would form, and fall onto the legendary warrior, washing the wounds it received from Ting Lu away.

The mission was to subdue the dogs and use them to subdue the incoming calamity. Ashley had grown more and more bitter about Walsh. He wasn't defecting to those goodie-two-shoes, no no. If anything, he agreed the League was a fustercluck. He resented Walsh though.[break][break]

Can't help being afraid. He could feel the sweat trickle down the nape of his neck.[break][break]

Maybe he knew that Walsh was sending him on a suicide mission. But as Ashley arrives, he throws a ball forward. Towards the dog. If his mission was to subdue, he wouldn't fail. Quite the opposite.[break][break]

Even with all these Leaguers around, he would cast the first stone for Rocket. Masked, and ready to fight, Reinhardt the Nidoking blasts out the ball, right behind Zacian.[break][break]

"Earth Power."[break][break]

Reinhardt slams its foot into the ground, intent to take the dog's flank and make it fight in a pincer.[break][break]

Though he was afraid. He could feel his heartbeat in his ear. He would ready his pistol for the first Leaguer he could, intent to fire if they tried to attack him. No petty revenge. He learned better from Landon () than he ever thought he would.[break][break]

No half measures. Not anymore.
