AN EARTHQUAKE ROCKS PETALBURG CITY. As the first of the shaking begins to subside, a violent SANDSTORM whips into the city. As ancient grit and stone batter tired trainers and their Pokemon, eerie beacons of light spear through the sands. These lights flicker sporadically and are parsed by howard slayte's REGICE:[break]

After receiving comms that the hospital is about to be struck, Rhys Collins and Georgette Bluebottle escape Petalburg General. The former gym leader leaps through a window on GLASTRIER, while the Rocket escapes by GALARIAN RAPIDASH.[break][break]

In the medical records Rhys Collins has pilfered, he will find mentions of TOXIC CHAIN POISONING and a "BERSERK GENE".

[attr="class","prompt0"]dorian westcliff has set a devastating fire that has spread into PETALBURG CITY. Due to the stress of the battle and of being informed by Elise Calcifet of PETALBURG GENERAL'S EVACUATION, John Sullivan unlocks a latent power bestowed unto him by TAPU LELE.

[attr="class","prompt0"]At the hospital, Cadeyrn Osmond protects Elise Calcifet against hostile Rockets led by Kenjiro Yamada. Elise Calcifet's SHINY DOUBLADE SACRIFICES ITSELF FOR HER as Cadeyrn Osmond evacuates with the princess. Kenjiro Yamada escapes too after receiving comms about the hospital's imminent destruction.

[attr="class","prompt0"]Kouji Matsubara calls in a GENESECT AIRSTRIKE, heavily damaging the city. Thankfully, Andrea Vaneau is able to survive. Her OGERPON is able to determine that the scent is of THE LOYAL THREE.

[attr="class","prompt0"]Gunner Graves communicates that PETALBURG GENERAL HOSPITAL is lost. jack wainwright is unable to separate the child from their toys, which he recognizes are statues of the detested LOYAL THREE during his time in PRISMATIC PENITENTIARY.

[attr="class","prompt0"]Yamaguchi Himiko steals Shalin Nariya's BEEDRILLITE, while the Petalburg Ranger Captain receives no response from DEREK HOFFMAN after she is knocked off her SILVALLY.

[attr="class","prompt0"]oscar clayton's GENESECT PRIME leaves him in order to find itself; the SHADOW DRIVE he owns can be used on a SILVALLY to make its MULTI-ATTACK SHADOW-TYPE. DESIREE BLOOMS is bestowed DIANCIE & A DIANCITE by the League, fulfilling the prophecy: "DIAMONDS WILL BE BESTOWED SWEET VOICE".

[attr="class","prompt0"]Roze Falkner is freed by Eduardo Hisakawa and Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki, but is contested by howard slayte and his REGICE. Eduardo Hisakawa is joined by TERRAKION who parries the REGICE'S DYNAMAX CANNON into PETALBURG CITY. Roze Falkner's COALOSSAL MEGA EVOLVES, while Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki's NIHILEGO ULTRA BURSTS. In the end, howard slayte and REGICE explode thanks to a rebounding DYNAMAX CANNON, raining DYNERGY onto the battlefield before the former marches toward the city.

[attr="class","prompt0"]Eris Halla, Cassandra Kubrick and Hideo Kino survive the attack on their city, while saving prisoners of war from GENESECT EXECUTION. Furthermore, the three are able to bounce howard slayte's REGICE'S DYNAMAX CANNON back with their LAKE GUARDIANS. Cassandra Kubrick's FLETCHINDER EVOLVES INTO A TALONFLAME. Eventually, Isaac Merlo's SUICUNE grants them safe passage before the earthquake.

[attr="class","prompt0"]Isaac Merlo witnesses the destruction of his home. With Yuan Wright and his ROTOM DRONE as witness, priam conrad inputs the command for an AIRSTRIKE ON PETALBURG GENERAL. El Sunderland protects Isaac Merlo, allowing him to communicate about the airstrike.

[attr="class","prompt0"]After a tense battle with Kazuya Yoshida, AIRI WATANABE assists Aaron Toral by escaping on DRAGONITE. her medical expertise can allow her to heal GENGAR back to consciousness if desired.

[attr="class","prompt0"]SCOUT WILDER is able to assist an old lady and her DELCATTY, effectively saving her from Hawkins nefarious mercy killings. Instead, they fall asleep thanks to his KOMALA. A report made hours later will detail the curious loss of eighteen civilians and their serene expressions of death. PETRA MONROE takes a transport away, unable to determine where Hawkins leaves as she ponders the presence of ULYSSES MONROE and the late DEREK HOFFMAN.

[attr="class","prompt0"]Elisabeth Fiorelli confronts DEREK HOFFMAN who is soon joined by FERNANDO SILPH. Surrounded by dorian westcliff's fire, FERNANDO SILPH protects Elisabeth Fiorelli against DEREK HOFFMAN and his Pokémon. After FORMER GYM LEADER'S MELMETAL MEGA EVOLVES to slay FERNANDO SILPH's SALAMENCE. Before DEREK HOFFMAN can kill Elisabeth Fiorelli, he is murdered by FERNANDO SILPH by gun. [break][break]

In the days to follow, DEREK HOFFMAN will be regaled as a martyr for the League and a significant, surviving symbol for the war effort. FERNANDO SILPH's betrayal will not be uncovered (until and if it is).

THIS IS A RAID EVENT where characters post every round, attempting actions and/or responding to prompts or scenarios present within provided MODERATOR POSTS. Oftentimes, characters must make use of the ROLL command, which can determine the success of actions and/or create narrative tension.

RAID EXAMPLE

This event is "DEATH-ENABLED". However, one should not worry too much about Pokemon or characters dying. Depending on player action, these high stakes can potentially be navigated without loss. Regardless, players can collaborate with me if they would like to craft dramatic moments like sacrifices, if it is able to be integrated into the event well.[break][break]

IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to take advantage of this event to connect with new characters and to step out of your comfort zones. These events often act as a springboard for a variety of plots in its aftermath, with consequences that impact the wider site narrative and/or setting.[break][break]

Considering shiv's current health, this event will likely be SHORT, HAVE QUICKER TURNAROUNDS & HAVE LESS DETAILED MODERATOR POSTS. It is up to you to develop your stories, your dramatic moments, and more in response to the scenario presented.[break][break]

The plan is to conclude this event by the END OF AUGUST.[break][break]

Do note that this is A ROCKET VS LEAGUE faction-based event.

• i will not tolerate complaints about not being mentioned, tagged, acknowledged or feeling "useless" in a raid. generally, i attempt to mention all characters and their actions in each post, but depending on the number of participants, this may not be feasible.

• remember that although i am essentially the DUNGEON MASTER or GAME MASTER of this event, much of this event's enjoyment and storytelling rests upon the players shoulders. collaborate with what i provide in each moderator post and each other for the best result!

• lastly, be cognizant of participating players and characters. no one is the "main character" of an event, and allowing space for give-and-take between characters and their actions is highly encouraged.
