He could understand why the Mantine was so determined to land the trick, now.

One couldn't give up on performing a difficult trick, no matter how many times one bailed off the Mantine after the attempt. Even with this flop landing harder than any other, that clone got back on the Mantine, once again going for a Magikarp Splash, for he could only truly fail once he stopped.

In an accident unlike Josh, he had fallen off the rental Mantine's back during the first maneuver of the OVER-THE-GYARADOS on his first attempt at it. Studying the video again at this point would not be helpful. He simply referred to the movement sequence once more before casting off the dock, catching a big wave, and trying it again. After all, this was one of the most difficult tricks on the list. It would take time and effort to learn.

While Shalin knew this trick would be a struggle, she didn't think it would take her this long to execute a single STARMIE 720. The end of it was so fun-looking, too, whirling so fast her arms would feel like jelly afterwards! She had to get there first, though. She cast off from the dick, took a deep breath, and guided the rental Mantine up the waves for another attempt.
