There is something to be said about the fact that Captain Dross doesn't seem affected by the chaos of drunken laughter and the occasional partygoer crashing into her - in fact, the captain seems to revel in it. A wide, lopsided grin splits her face, inviting trouble, and her eyes are feverishly bright as she lets another shot of tequila slide down her throat with practised ease.

The empty glass is slammed down onto the wooden counter, the last of a line of five. By her side is her latest victim and one of her youngest friends (and, in her opinion, the one who needs to relax the most), sporting a hilariously neon bracelet around his wrist. 

"Here," she tells him in response, subtly pushing a tequila shot his way with a quirk of her eyebrow, lips twitching with a barely concealed smirk. "Helps washing off the taste of beer." Not that there is anything wrong with beer per se.  

Tequila is simply the superior option. And rum. Can't forget the rum. 

She barely notices 's entrance, too busy ordering another round for both her and . 

"Oh, hey!" Unabashedly, Skyler slips the strangely familiar man one of the drinks she'd swiped from further down the countertop. "You joinin' us?"

FEVER HIGH IN A COMPETITION OF THE GREATEST



FERNANDO SLIPS INTO RASCAL WITH THE FURTIVE NUANCE OF AN INSIDE JOKE. His iconic, well kempt look is traded in for the tired result of a day chocked full of battles. Beach washed hair–dry now–is let down, absent of any wax. The way it clings to his forehead and neck almost makes Fernando unrecognizable from a distance.

Tonight, he seeks nothing more than to bask in the glow of the bar’s atmosphere. He’ll watch from afar, stomaching a few shots of his own, but refrain from joining in. A social battery burdened by duty is worn down with the amount of strangers he has to approach without end.

But, to no surprise, the tavern is filled with familiar faces. Some he only recognizes through sheer reputation, such as , while others he knows intimately. sticks out indubitably with the bright neon wristband wrapped around his wrist.

“Kingsman,” Fernando announces from behind, laying him out with a firm pat on the back. “Didn’t take you for a beer drinker.”

’s appearance makes sense. Their relationship as friends is one he still remembers and even addresses during their battle. But Captain ? While it’s not questionable by any means, seeing the two of them together just reaffirms that notion that it’s a small world out there.

“You all enjoying your time out there?”

His grin is one out of courtesy, one that dies down when he takes a seat next to Skyler, more familiar with her than Chu-e. A wave of his hand garners the bartender’s attention but he’ll have to wait as they prepare another customer their drinks.

"I don't," Razz sticks his tongue out after having drank the beer so fast. It wasn't that it tasted terrible, but he wasn't much for drinking, especially so fast. He gives a nod of welcome, looking behind him to see Eris waving him down. Cheering him on about how not to let them beat him. He gives her a thumbs up, but he knows he is WAY out of his league here. He lives a bit of a questioning look at the shot given to him. Wondering if either Skyler or him would get in trouble for giving him anything other than beer. Though its not like he isn't legal for him drink in Hoenn. So he takes the shot offered if only to get the taste of the beer out of his mouth. Though that's when he suddenly felt the pat on his back from and he can't help but suddenly cough. Both from the burn of the Tequila and he is pretty sure it went down the wrong way with the pat. "Not," he cough, "really," another cough. He's too busy recovering now to answer the question.

Battles.

Too. Many. Fucking. Battles.

His brain had never been so tired from throwing out a lot of Pokémon and encountering a lot of unexpected results.

So… the moment the ‘after dark’ hours commenced…

Holy shit he was down for this.

He knew that a certain someone wouldn’t miss this chance for the world to actively bartend, however today wasn’t going to be that day—wherever he was.

That, and he was feeling a bit cranky and wanted to unwind. Shit, that ramune made him thirstier after the battle with .

Once he’d managed to get inside, the loud music, the noise—damn, he could feel the beginnings of a headache coming on. He craved the quiet—and therefore made a beeline straight towards the bar, before slapping down enough bills for a bottle of—

“Tequila. Skip the salt and the lemon, I need this shit hard.”

In short order the bottle was placed down in front of him, along with a shot glass. Once the bottle had been cracked open, down went the first shot. And another—and a third one.

Holy crap he really needed to destress.

A fourth, and a fifth, disappeared in short order. Damn, he really needed to slow down—but the night, as they said, was young!

Man, was popular! Maybe Chu-e had joined the right table to party.

"Eris!" He hadn't seen at first, since I didn't refresh the page like an idiot and missed her post before, but he is thrilled she's still okay. If, maybe, a little concerned on how she ended up in a bar. Then again, he was already five shots in and looking to have carry him back home so maybe having her nearby was for the better.

"Let me get you a drink, sweetie." He took the shot that gave him with a wink and knocked it back before he got up, for the moment, to head for the bar.

He came back with enough shots to down three elephants balanced on a tray. Hopefully enough to get Razz, Skylar, , , , and himself fuckign wasted. He slid a shot to Sam, grinning.

"It's right here!" In answer, then picked one up for himself.

A Strawberry Daquari was offered to Eris, pretty and pink in the glass- also a virgin drink, so it was just a strawberry cream slushie.

"I think we should all get Razzie so drunk he can't remember his name." Was declared to the table proudly.

Suddenly Sam finds himself amidst more people than he originally bargained for.

Worse yet, he kinda liked it?

It's not usual for Sam to enjoy the company of others. Maybe it's the alcohol controlling him. But he's even dorning a smile when offered the shot from and the really terrible pun... that made Sam snort.

"Thanks Master of the High Seas."

It's a tease, along with a lifted cheer, before he's downing the shot and wincing. He's only winced because he feels a bit like it should have hurt more than it did, which it didn't. Maybe it was like that rule where alcohol feels better with company and bitter when lonely?

Or was that just Kanto sake and his over-emotional mother?

"It's good to see you Eris." He returns the greeting had given him, and then makes a face at the fact that she'd just called mister dude guy. Thankfully he could take a sip of what was in his can to combat his laughter.

“What’re we drinking?” [break][break]

With a weight leaning against the back of one particular ship captain, the accompanying question brushing against her ear as the roughness of an unshaven jaw scratches against her cheek, would suddenly find herself short one drink. [break][break]

Angelo having stretched in the middle of her and , pinching the shot glass from her calloused fingers before she had a chance to bring it to her lips, leaving but a slow smirk as payment. [break][break]

He takes a precautionary step backwards – just out of range – before knocking it back himself. It leaves a pleasant burn down his throat, one that’s welcomed after a long morning training at the airfield and an even longer afternoon of battles on the beach. Even better for being stolen. “Woah, slow down, Razz. Nights only just started.” Angelo sarcastically grins, joining the others in giving the ranger a smack on the back when he coughs and splutters at the burn of whatever concoction had been passed his way. “I like your bracelet, by the way.” [break][break]

Not yet opting to sit as he takes another of the many shots being passed around, casually tossing it down his throat, Angelo greets the other friendly faces around the table. “Hey, Storms. Ki. Sam. Pipsqueak.” He nods to , , and in turn. [break][break]

Blue eyes then settle upon the man who’d claimed the seat beside Skyler, taking pause at a figure who he feels should be a familiar one. [break][break]

“Hey, man.” Angelo finally says with a pat on his shoulder, ’s name eluding him. Perhaps they hadn’t met before, after all. “What’d I miss?” [break][break]

As the entirety of the crowded tavern apparently decides to converge upon the two of them, more and more familiar faces (and some unfamiliar ones) join them.

is met with a sneaky curl of her lips, edged with a wilderness that the man would find familiar from their time spent at sea. While slips away to grab them some drinks, Skyler seizes the chance to slide one of her shots Fernando's way, the golden brown liquid catching the light. "Mr Silph." It comes out, maybe subconsciously, sounding like a challenge. "Cheers." The drink burns a pleasant path down her throat.

Her hand automatically finds itself patting 's back when he starts coughing, though her attention inevitably catches on flowing brunette hair and eyes of flame. "Storms?!" There's a tug on 's arm to bring her ever so slightly closer, on level with gleaming silver. "Have been swimming much, Storms? 'Tis the season and all."

Chu-e's arrival is met with raucorous cheer from the captain, who greets each of the newcomers. "Hey imp. Tattoo guy." and , respectively. It isn't until a familiar voice brushes against her ear, however, that Captain Dross's smile morphs into something altogether too troublesome.

"Angel." What would've been a slow purr turns into an annoyed snarl as the shot Skyler had been about to drink is unjustly snatched from her hands. 

By the time she whirls around to take back what's hers,  - knowing her far too well - has already taken a step back and downed the shot himself. Reminding herself that revenge could and would come at a later time, Skyler snatches another shot for herself, gaze not straying from ocean blue as she downs it in one go.

'Your turn, Angel boy.'

Turning back to the table, Captain Dross allows the curve of her back to mold itself to Angelo's side, easy in its familiarity.

"mmmm, that's...that don't go down too well after two cans. ya might wanna get that checked out zac." he leaves the table just like he leaves his criticism, stumbling about making his way to where he could get himself something to chase down the beverage.

as he did he managed to spot hanging out a few familiar faces and smiles, walking over and stealing a drink form a waiter's plate as he takes a third gulp of it as he makes his way over and drapes a shoulder over the blonde captain. "oi captain ya over here drinking people under the sea? c'mon don't ya think that's a little unfair of ya? seriously boys don't let this one have to carry you back home. she'll do it i mean it."

WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN GENUINE LAUGHTER IS CUT SHORT BY A SLUR OF CRASS NICKNAMES. Abbreviating his name in that tone can only come from one of few people. It takes a certain amount of familiarity to earn his ire with his name alone.

“Yeah. It’s a bit much.”

Fernando accepts the shot without hesitation. But he simply holds it, tracing his sights around the glass’ edge. Her finger earns him a wrinkle of his nose as the group of several devolves into a whole entourage.

He passes a causal wave at , looking down at her from his height, realizing just how perfectly align her height is for a kick to the face.

A clasps on his shoulder returns his attention and Fern doesn’t bat an eye. “Not much, dude,” he retorts, parroting Eris’ manner of speech toward .

Once there’s enough unfamiliar faces to become uncomfortable, Fernando resorts to killing his liquor. ’s shot comes first with ’s following shortly after. It quiets him as he allows those around him to carry on the energy of the group.

But it is that breaks the camel’s back. He doesn’t recognize the Pokenger out of uniform despite their confrontation during their Excursion. All Fernando sees is another person he doesn’t know which causes him to stand.

“Anderson! Ramsey!”

Both Aqua members are called upon as Fernando looks to return balance to the table. He’s had a sly eye on the Head Ranger since entered. , who had been there prior to him, is a hard sight to miss.

“Come drink with us.”

Sober enough to put together the Sotally Tober’s anagram, Fernando jeers his colleagues to join in. There is comfort in familiarity and perhaps the added additions will take the heat off his much slower pace of drinking.

"On my way Fern!" Zac called, pushing through the crowd of Charja-Cola enthusiasts and carefully making his way across the bar. He was already feeling tipsy and his can was only half empty. Drinking was far from his area of expertise, and the strongest thing Zac had drank in the last six months was a cup of warm milk at 's house. 

"What are we talkin' about?" Zac asked, joining the table of friends and looking around with a slightly lopsided grin. He took another, small, sip. The taste was great, but he was worried about the ramifications for his head tomorrow. I bet my powers work on hangovers.

An end to the incredibly long day on the beach. The countless trips to the Pokémon center. The knowing side-eye from the Nurse Joy who probably wishes she was a human General Practitioner by now. The hours of camping out by the cooler chugging electrolyte drinks to stay hydrated. The countless clear pisses he could’ve sold to juicing baseball players.

To that end, he was on the beach again. Countless faces. Multiple coolers. He did his stock move and beelined for a cooler. Giona pried one open and pulled out two Razz berry wine coolers, sizing them up. He wore a fisherman’s fit with a vest and shorts lined with pockets, over black sandals.

His shadow was purple-tinted, but otherwise looked normal. Having fetched a drink, he looked around. Spotting a familiar face, he slowly made his way to the throng of people surrounding him, so as not to either intrude or look like he was running at them. It looks like they’d already started to drive him up the wall. Seeing another familiar face out of the corner of his eye, he beckoned over.

"Hey, man. Are you cool? You looked lost." He said, looking at Jayden with a slight grin. might be able to remember that prominent nose and slight vocal fry, though he tried to look different. He then nodded at , and raised a wine cooler. He pried the cap off, and downed a third of it. “Hey, man. This weather, huh?! I was this close to passing out when we battled on the hot sand.” Hi|ZmhlQ

Fernando's deadpan slash irritated expression only serves to bring a wider smile to her face. [break][break]

The woman turns to order another round right after the first, but she is cut off at the sudden tug at her arm. She's suddenly face to face with a very pretty face, one that she recognizes immediately as the woman who'd almost drowned her- no, the woman who'd taught her how not to drown.[break][break]

"Hell yeah I have! Just ask Fern, we were out for a swim just today! Pretty impressive, honestly, just to pat myself on the back a little bit."[break][break]

And she does just that, pats herself on the back. Her laugh is contagious, as is her smile, as her gaze sweeps over their merry band of misfits and friends. Stormy does a double-take as she settles on , passes over with a wink, before settling on , then , and finally, just as the man approaches.[break][break]

"We're a full house tonight, looks like!"[break][break]

Stormy glances back at briefly, promptly distracted by inevitably more shots. Two more go down smooth before she begins to feel a buzz already. Ever the friendly sort, she moves, unprompted, to pull into a warm, brief hug.[break][break]

"Talking about how I totally kicked Ferny's ass in our last battle. Water guns, bro. His kryptonite, I'm tellin' ya."[break][break]
