• 1. The Search for kyle lopez and the Great One[break]
  Since ascending to the title of Champion one week before Kyle and Ho-oh went missing, Josh feels responsible to get to the bottom of the circumstances of the Emergent's death. With a Patron known for resurrection powers, he believes that Kyle is not truly dead, and has been leading expeditions to Mount Chimney in search of the Top Champion's body.[break][break]
  
  Due to the timing of his Champion Assessment, as well as the timing of Ho-oh passing on the Sacred Ash Raikou to Josh, he believes that Kyle knew the hour of his death and has been preparing to make the Knight of Thunder his successor. The start of these events was explored in the thread The Signer and the Emergent, where Ho-oh and kyle lopez found Josh worthy of the titles of Champion and Knight of Thunder.[break][break]
  
  As such, Josh is heavily invested in the search for Kyle. He has made several trips to Mount Chimney, taking extreme measures such as wearing a full-body heat suit to get dangerously close to the caldera.   Josh has also been questioning those who were involved with the events of Primeval, the mini-raid that served as the end of MATIAS SILPH 's CORRUPTED RED SHARD arc. After reading the HNN article about the region-altering event, Josh took it into his own hands and visited Matias' ranch on Route 121, in the thread Rights and Wrongs. There, he learns that Matias is Kyle's killer, but swears the knowledge to secrecy as a means to get back in the Volatile's favors when it became apparent to him that Groudon's influence over Matias is waning. Matias later admits to him that Groudon has severed his connection with his Avatar completely, giving Josh a secondhand experience of just how controlling a Patron can be. This makes him realize just how dangerous Avatarship is, and just how lucky he is that the Great One's blessing was not an Avatarship.

• 2. Gym Leader Duties[break][break]
  In terms of player-character Gym Challenger volume, Mauville Gym has been slow. Josh has received very few challengers since the last Activity Check, which has let me highlight how he can use his Gym in other ways. It also lets me highlight how he uses his influence as Gym Leader to formulate defense plans. Since discovering the Authentic Power Spot beneath Mauville in the thread To Find That Which Was Sent Away, ft. howard slayte , as well as the presence of an Artificial Power Spot above Mauville Square in the center of the city, studying the Dynamax Phenomenon has become a priority of Josh's during his frequent downtime at the Gym.[break][break]
  
  After Rime, his Alolan Ninetales, died after Dynamaxing through harnessing the Authentic Power Spot, he pleads with the rest of the Gym Leaders to avoid using Dynamax Bands when possible, protesting in the thread Gym Jam. At the end of the Gym Leader summit in Lilycove, Josh offers Mauville Gym as a testing ground for Dynamax Pokémon, feeling his gigantic property is the best place to conduct experiments with the building-sized creatures. lam logan is the first one to take him up, and the two have a clash of Dynamax Pokémon in the thread Dynergy, Schmynergy. He also rides through Mauville City alongside Captain annalise henderson in the thread Aye Aye, Captain!, the duo inspecting its three tiers to learn where the city is most vulnerable to a Dynamax attack and to devise countermeasures.[break][break]
  
  Since the events of RESURFACED TREASURES and his hospital arc following the skirmish in Dewford, Josh has retired from serving directly on the front lines as a fighter and a warrior. Navy , kyle lopez , and others have convinced him that the best role for him in combat is a supplier. He will support the front lines by functioning as a war courier, delivering Poké Balls, medicine, and key information to critical agents in the field. This takes full advantage of his penchant for blistering speed, making him a slippery target for Rocket to catch.[break][break]
  
  As such, he has been working on developing a new Non-Traditional Gym Challenge: a war courier scenario involving navigating the entire length of his Racing Grounds to a "safe house" on the far north end. The candidate, using their Pokémon, is to ferry supply crates across the Gym's different kinds of terrain. It is not so simple; Josh's Pokémon are on the hunt, employing tactics similar to what Rockets would on the field of battle. Navigation, intuition, stealth, and combat skills are tested, among other skills. Guarding the safe house is a rare boss Pokémon meant to simulate a battle with a Rocket Avatar or similarly powerful foe.[break][break]
  
  Currently, two characters are testing this new Gym Challenge for Josh. The first is FERNANDO SILPH , in the thread The Messenger; the second is Eduardo Hisakawa , in the thread The Distance. If results are promising, he will submit it to the Pokémon League for implementation (pending shiv approval.)[break][break]

  I know this isn't an Avatarship, but I would like to highlight Josh's relationship with the Sacred Ash Raikou bestowed upon him in the Activity Check, as well. I feel it is a special case much like Alexei Ivanov 's Tornadus and Hideo Kino 's Uxie.[break][break]
  
  In the thread The Signer and the Emergent, kyle lopez passed down the ability to summon Sacred Ash Raikou to Josh. From the Beast's monochrome color to its construct-like nature lacking a personality, the Knight of Thunder has ascertained that his legendary companion is unlike any other he has ever seen: it is a shadow of the Johtonian Beast he knows. His heroic expectations were shattered when he discovered that the Raikou could not defeat a single one of his common Pokémon in battle. If an Avatar's Patron is a step up in power from a common Pokémon, the Sacred Ash Raikou is a step down from that baseline. While it is completely and wholly obedient to Josh, it is not much stronger than a Magikarp in its current state, only able to use the move Spark at present.

  With the events of Gym Jam making Josh aware of an invasion on Sootopolis City, and kyle lopez 's death a known quantity, a unique opportunity has presented itself. It would stand to reason that the Sacred Ash Raikou and Suicune died with the Emergent's passing. Provided Josh can get his Sacred Ash Raikou into fighting shape by the time the planned invasion rolls around, he will have a potent weapon Rocket will not see coming.[break][break]
  
  To Josh's dismay, traditional training techniques are ineffective; he needs to learn why the Raikou is, from his perspective, weak. He seeks out several members of the AQUA Initiative, or in some cases, runs into them by happenstance. [break][break]

The Volatile, much more calm and understanding than when in possession of the CORRUPTED RED SHARD, calmly explains to Josh that the Sacred Ash Raikou is not a real Pokémon, and is merely a construct. The Champion relates the in-universe equivalent to the tale of Pinocchio, understanding that his Raikou is but a shade of the original. Greyson Connors reinforces this in the thread Victory Lap. Josh is working very hard to keep the Sacred Ash Raikou a secret. Little does he know that Rocket already knows about Raikou by analyzing Josh's dream data in the thread Dream Data: Devlin, ft. howard slayte and Lulu Flint .[break][break]
  
  Those threads together give Josh the notion that the Sacred Ash Raikou is a reflection of his subconscious, and this is the reason why Raikou is currently so weak and can only use one move. His love of Raikou is currently tied almost exclusively to the Beast's unparalleled land speed. In order for the Sacred Ash Raikou to become the Beast Josh reveres and truly be a force to reckoned with, he must learn to shape his subconscious and appreciate Raikou for more than just its extreme speed.[break][break]
  
  In the raid event Prismatic Penetentiary, Elisabeth Fiorelli 's Avatar powers have influenced Josh to tap into Raikou's SAVAGERY, his legendary partner attempting to maul Cyllora and Pecharunt with the intent to rip out their throats. While he may not have been in a healthy state of mind thanks to the Scorned, this turn of events has shaped Josh's subconscious enough for him to understand just how merciless a legendary Pokémon can be. This has caused Raikou to regain the move QUICK ATTACK. Even so, he has a long way to go before his precious Beast will be what he remembers it being under kyle lopez 's control.

  CANON AC GYM BADGE: Please award the QUICK BADGE to ever blackwell for his hard work on an undercover mission that convinced Josh to get out of the front lines, as well as being there for him during PRISMATIC PENITENTIARY.[break][break]
  
  I cannot believe it's been almost two years since joining Hoenn! Transforming Josh from a self-deprecating perfectionist into someone Mauville City, and Hoenn at large, can call a hero has been a true delight, and I have a lot of people to thank for some spicy, upcoming plots. I'd like to thank Ven for the betrayal plot ending one of Josh's longest-lasting friendships with Alexei Ivanov , perhaps even permanently. Zaber for being an incredible partner than can bring even the most mundane thread to life and letting me reciprocate the help Aero and others gave me when I wanted to make Josh a Gym Leader. Passing that experience on to people like Des has been so satisfying, seeing DESIREE BLOOMS joining the Major League after the raid is over. The list goes on and on.[break][break]
  
  The story doesn't stop with Josh becoming a Champion and fulfilling his dream of befriending Raikou! I know I said this back in March, but I love love LOVE shiv 's attention to detail when crafting plots for characters he wants to put in the spotlight. The restrictions placed on Raikou make me feel like I'm raising a baby legendary. I wouldn't have it any other way; it easily sets up another multi-year arc of development between Josh and the Beast he has loved since childhood. I look forward to weaving Raikou into the plots of other characters, both canons and non-canons (when circumstances permit) while still giving the rest of Josh's Pokémon their chance to shine.[break][break]
  
  I have many, many other smaller plots going on as well, such as helping new Rangers get established, including faolan ashbaker and SCOUT WILDER , but I simply could not include them in the AC for space.[break][break]

  Remiel Calcifet and ZEKROM continue their crusade for an IDEAL WORLD by challenging those who (to them) seem uncertain of their own IDEALS or have misjudged their own. You'll see these debates/arguments/disagreements peppered throughout several of my threads, especially with those who remain distrusting of Remiel Calcifet despite becoming a member of the LEAGUE/AQUA. Slowly but surely, both Remiel Calcifet and ZEKROM are becoming more VINDICTIVE in their pursuit of TEAM ROCKET.[break][break]
  
  With the idea of a 'good intentions gone bad' storyline in play, I enjoy using this avatarship as a means of challenging established characters like MATIAS SILPH and PENELOPE LIVY and subverting the expectations of others who are not. By following this line of plot, I also hope to hold up a mirror to characters with more sympathy toward Remiel and ZEKROM's plight. Having IDEALS is all well and good, but what will a character do to see them through? Where will the line be drawn? I enjoy using this avatarship as a point of IC controversy between the two factions and feel I have accomplished this well.

  "Hey Noodles, what if Elisabeth gave a corrupted Red Shard to Matias? Wouldn't that be crazy?" This is more or less how the first brainstorm began for the plot that would result in 'Primeval.'[break][break]
  
  What starts as ill-advised flirtation across faction lines spirals out when their secret alliance is exposed to Rocket. Feigning reconnaissance, Elisabeth is called on her bluff when declan walsh orders her to corrupt Matias with a Red Shard. Which she does, forcing MATIAS SILPH's friends and comrades to both fight against him and defend him.[break][break]
  
  In the case of kyle lopez, that decision costs him his own life and Hoenn its longest-running Champion.[break][break]
  
  The downfall of Matias and Kyle isn't one Elisabeth Fiorelli takes pride in, though Rockets like howard slayte and THEO BECKETT expect her to. She pretends she does, but it only confirms her worst suspicions about herself: that she is designed to do nothing but ruin people.[break][break]
  
  Characters like Navy, Elise Calcifet, MATIAS SILPH, and kyle lopez challenge Elisabeth's own assumptions about her motives, while others like Greyson Connors, paxton concordas, Melody Miro and Gunner Graves learn what they can to take down this woman who is increasingly proving a danger to Hoenn as they know it.[break][break]

  It's been so rewarding to see how Kyle's death and Matias's betrayal have shaped so many threads that aren't even listed below. My favorite types of conflict to push forward are on the 'main stage' of Hoenn, where other characters can react to events. It's the thing I love best about playing an antagonist and underboss, and it means a lot to be trusted enough by both Noodles and Aero to write a story like this. Both of them did a phenomenal job setting up this arc (as did countless other writers in this story), and I'm super looking forward to see where it goes next.

  Power doesn't equate to happiness. Despite Elisabeth's role as a dual-Avatar and an underboss in Rocket, she's paranoid that at any moment, Rocket may decide she isn't enough. So she betrays Matias when asked, reluctantly agrees to being studied by Naomi Sato, and conducts toxicology studies that attract the interest of Cillian Quinn, THEO BECKETT, Andrea Vaneau, and illeana reyes.[break][break]
  
  This paranoia keeps her distant with others like soyeon kwan, ameena abadi, and Grigori Sokolov, and makes bonds shared with MARILYN HASEGAWA and Neffatari Nzingha treasured (superficial though those bonds are). But no bond tethers her quite like her devotion to BARNABY FINCH -- her greatest and most exploitable vulnerability.[break][break]
  
  MATIAS SILPH's jealousy of his rival 'Bee' causes Elisabeth to fear for his safety. When Matias attacks Zev Harcourt out of a mistaken belief he is 'Bee,' this prompts Elisabeth to make a secret deal: Zev agrees to protect BARNABY FINCH from Matias, and in return, she quietly defends Neffatari Nzingha against a nosy THEO BECKETT. Alas, she has yet to realize the devastating consequences of BARNABY FINCH discovering how much MATIAS SILPH knows about him, later.[break][break]
  
  Either way, her relationship to BARNABY FINCH remains fraught. She misunderstands his reciprocation of her feelings, believing it to be a sign they are monogamous. It shatters her to discover he is also seeing THEO BECKETT, who gleefully reveals their intimacy to her obvious hurt. Confronting Admin Bee only ends in her blaming herself for her own possessive nature, frustrated and despairing that he will never love her as desperately as she does him.[break][break]
  
  If you make one person responsible for all your external validation, you give them too much power over you. When Prismatic Penitentiary concludes, that stark difference between them will have never been so clear.[break][break]

  Big, big thanks to Dove, Noodles, and Gunsmile for pushing this intricate little plot forward. It's been so fun to show what a truly besotted version of Elisabeth is like. She's childish and vulnerable, throwing little tantrums and sulking when she doesn't get her way, only to immediately cling and plead when her efforts only earn aloof disdain. As much as Elisabeth denies she can feel love, the opposite is true: she feels love too deeply, and therefore being in love terrifies her.   I am forever delighted by the avenues that Wo-chien gives me to explore the concept of grudges, resentment, trauma, and unhappiness. In my Father Winter 2, I knew I wanted to write an Elisabeth who has wholly succumbed to her destructive nature. But after she escapes her terrible demise and flees to solitude, what then? What might a relationship with Wo-chien look like, without outside forces for her grudges to feast upon?[break][break]
  
  So often, Wo-chien's tie to Elisabeth reads as purely parasitic. Wo-chien feeds on her store of resentment, using it like fuel to power itself. But in many ways, it also mirrors her. Both of them have an almost infantile desire to ruin the things around them. They smother the objects of their attention to the point of suffocation -- then scream in a confused rage when their toys won't play with them anymore. The two of them loop in these self-destructive cycles, which empower and devastate them in equal measure.[break][break]
  
  FW2's Elisa accepts that Wo-chien's inherent nature is no more malicious than she is: "There is no judgment to be had in mere existence." She finds kinship in an acceptance between two beings that are beyond redemption, while also not in need of saving. I loved exploring such a stark difference from modern Elisa's dynamic with Wo-chien to the odd understanding of their future AU dynamic, which translated well into how I utilized Wo-chien in Prismatic Penitentiary.[break][break]
  
  PRISMATIC PENITENTIARY[break]
  "How do you write Elisabeth without her snail?" It's so easy to see Wo-chien's influence on her that the absence of it asks a curious question: how much of her personality is Wo-chien, and how much is simply her?[break][break]
  
  In PP, I delved into Elisabeth's trauma of being imprisoned and robbed of her agency, groveling for her captors while secretly despising them and wishing for their downfall. It's an echo of surviving her abusive marriage in Kalos, and a callback to the origin of what drew Wo-chien to her in the first place: a monstrous resentment for having suffered indignity, misery, and betrayal without any recourse.[break][break]
  
  Wo-chien didn't ruin Elisabeth. Wo-chien chose Elisabeth, because both of them draw power from the same spite, and both of them ruin the world in a similar way. Theirs is a shared nature of strength through self-destruction.[break][break]

And a year and a half later, Spiral and I have been able to lay the groundwork for this plot to officially take off! I'm beyond pleased with the writing we've done for this so far, and I'm grateful that Spiral has chosen to share this plot and Avatarship with me to tell a truly satisfying narrative.[break][break]
  
  My major Tapu Fini plot of 2023 involved Elisabeth experimenting with Tapu Fini's mist on people like annalise henderson to understand what FERNANDO SILPH did to his victims, operating on an assumption given to her by his AU self's RVL. Armed with that limited and not-quite-accurate knowledge, she is now left trying to make sense of the aftermath of her battle with FERNANDO SILPH and freya morningstar in OCTOBER -- our pivotal thread from the last canon AC period.[break][break]
  
  Writing Elisabeth trying to solve the mystery of what Tapu Fini's mist did to her former Avatar is super fun for me. This post from Luminous summarizes her current understanding (and confusion) well.[break][break]
  
  Realistically, FERNANDO SILPH should want to kill her for being a threat to the League. He even has reasons for a personal vendetta. But for reasons she doesn't understand, he seems drawn to her and protective of her in an intensely vulnerable way. What she doesn't realize is that Tapu Fini has glamourized her to appear as the late love of FERNANDO SILPH's life -- and how could she guess at something like that, without being told so outright?[break][break]
  
  "El" could very well be assumed to be "Elisabeth," not "Elysia."[break][break]
  
  A misunderstanding of mythical proportions begins to take shape as Elisabeth wonders at what exactly Fernando's feelings towards her are, whether the feelings Tapu Fini has drawn from him are genuine, and how accurate his perception of her truly is.[break][break]
  
  She has yet to understand how Tapu Fini has cast her as a puppet in a theater of her own design, taunting her former Avatar with the one weakness he craves and mourns most.[break][break]

  At the moment, things are at an impasse between Lars and his legendary patron; after driving him out several times from Shoal Cave on the various attempts that he’s made to try and negotiate with Articuno, well—wouldn’t paint him at his wit’s end not just yet because the both of them are being stubborn.[break][break]
  
  Right now he’s meeting with illeana reyes in daffodil so that they can sort out what exactly is happening to the two of them. Honestly, at this point I would not be surprised if they chose to leave Lars, even though he’s there, ready and waiting to be thrown fighting at Team Rocket like a cannonball.[break][break]
  
  After hearing what had happened to MATIAS SILPH, he decides to pay the other a visit and seek some… information. Knowledge. Help, if the other is willing to offer it.[break][break]
  
  On other things, he has been communicating with several people on how dangerous wanting to be an avatar is. Between Josh Devlin and Elise Calcifet, he’s discussed with them that while yes, there are advantages to being an avatar; it’s not all sunshine and daisies that the general public paints them out to be.[break][break]
  
  In fact, he has to make sure that Elise Calcifet isn’t going to mess up and make mistakes, since her own cousin Remiel Calcifet is also an avatar; while with Josh Devlin, hopefully their vengeful encounter with Articuno has dissuaded the younger man from chasing such a dream.[break][break]
  
  On the side, he’s helping to train other Rangers, like Michael Davis and continuing Elise Calcifet’s training journey as well; while with robin coello he’s trying to gently ease in the fact that she is indeed, in the presence of an avatar although he has a rather funny way of doing it.[break][break]
  
  His best friend ollie morales has also come to ask him his own opinion on how to handle the Ranger Amnesty Program without drawing considerable flak towards the Rangers as a whole; the advice he provided would hopefully help steel the other man’s resolve on how to move forward with the entire thing while handling pushback from several sides at once.[break][break]
  
  More on the Ranger side of things and getting ready for conflict that would inevitably find them at Verdanturf, he’s called to Elinor Anderson cousin dearest’s office where they discuss and make plans for the looming war that’s coming up.[break][break]
  
  On the horizon, I’d want to get Lars involved more with the inevitable war arc that would break out especially in skirmishes versus Team Rocket where they can see the ‘deteriorating condition’ he has with his connection with Articuno; maybe getting him injured in the process?   For anyone else who is looking to find out about the ‘darker side’ of being an avatar, look no further than Lars himself. While there are those who have been blessed with legendary companions (even if they are just a ‘shard’ of the original) fact of the matter is that he is here to guide, to provide advice and have people examine and re-think their ambitions of wanting to become one of the gods’ chosen; since he is still a public presence after all, it would do good for him to give both the good and the not-so-good sides of being at the whims of a higher force of nature.

  Greyson has been through a lot over the years. He's held it together because he's needed too—for his loved ones, for his own sanity, for the people he represents. However, slowly but surely, cracks begin to spread in that foundation until finally, things start to break.

  At the end of Post Dormitorium the woman he loves is kidnapped, someone he considered a trusted friend turns on him, and he begins to see the League in a new light when they refuse to mobilize to help her. This leads to continued conflicts with many of League's well-respected and highly-valued assets, but more than that, begins to morph Greyson slowly into something akin to an Anti-Team Rocket zealot, with lasting enough effects on his views towards certain League ideals, and especially, the Amnesty Program.

  My goal with this plot is to explore Greyson's more complex emotions, as I've felt there are certain aspects of his personality that have been too rigid in this constantly evolving site-plot. A huge portion of his character is the fact that, no matter what happens, he keeps to certain morals and ideologies. But as conflict with Team Rocket, and even the League, continues to push him closer to that metaphorical edge, he has to wrestle with how far he's willing to go in this ever-evolving conflicts. The shift from small-town boy, to a war-scarred veteran touches slightly on the Monomyth—at the very least when attempting to explore a man who once idolized the role he currently serves in, and is now coming to the harsh reality that he necessarily isn't a 'hero', and that the 'right thing' isn't as simple as he always expected.

  To this end I've attempted to explore a number of small, but consistent personality shifts, to include:

• 2. A PILLAR WITH CRACKS[break]

  As a member of the Elite Four, Greyson is expected to be a pillar of the League. Yet, as spoken about in EMOTIONAL DAMAGE above, he finds himself fraying at the edges. Constant defeat and humiliation, as well as an inability to reign his own self-control in, is all feeding the growing Imposter Syndrome.

  But, even as he struggles to come to terms with himself, he still must strive to be a beacon for all those that may—or may not—look up to him.

  Even as his relationship with MATIAS SILPH fluctuates from near-deadly encounters to begrudging alliances, Greyson finds solace in real friends like illeana reyes, lam logan, Melody Miro, aaron faust, LANCE VOLLANS, and many others.
  [break][break]
  To that end he seeks to push those for a great purpose—as seen with his encounters with lam logan who he believes embodies the kind-of bravery and selflessness that the League looks for. His level head and soft-heart, on top of his merits, are what push Greyson to encourage Lam one day soon join the A.Q.U.A. Initiative.

  He also speaks to Melody Miro about taking on the task of looking for Giratina, an old ally of the League's, asking for her help in finding a suitable candidate or set up a mutually beneficial arrangement similar to Jirachi or Diancie.

  Or when he tries to offer an outlet of aggression for a grief filled noah faber; guides an uncertain Himari Kaneshiro in taming a Mythical Paradox; spread the word about the glory of Comfey alongside a humble Gwyar Wledig; offer his advice to Josh Devlin's new Ashen Raikou; racing (and cheating) against nabi park; join the hunt for Kyle with Yuina Higashi, all while painting himself in a negative light; and push not only for his own advancement, but the future (and current) Champion's of the region such as: Josh Devlin, freya morningstar, aaron faust, mint frost, and reluctantly even CIAN MAHER.

  But Greyson is not without his doubts or fallacies of his own.

  Greyson questions the likes of ALEXANDER STONE to gauge his take on Matias's melt down and kyle lopez's death. He nurtures the seeds of doubt at the direction of the League and the Amnesty Program dahlia goode pushes for, alongside an apathetic PENELOPE LIVY. He takes beating after beating, only to stand back up a little slower reach time, wondering if all of this is worth it—if he was destined to be a punching bag for the powerful for the rest of his life.

  His time in that prison, fighting against the poison that wrecked his body in POSION PATROL, as well as his past experiences at death's door against the likes of MATIAS SILPH, jayden cross, and Zev Harcourt will undoubtedly change him and how he approaches fights against powerful adversaries going forward. Despite trying to maintain the composure that he has everything together it looks more and more likely that mask will slip—pray tell what consequences come from that.

  kyle's death in an attempt to purify primal poisoning from groudon's influence in MATIAS SILPH becomes the climax of kyle understanding the extent of his powers, something he has put off from learning as someone who doesn't get bothered with power.

  early on, he learns the limits of his revival powers and its purifying effects during 41. toxic takeover arc. in an encounter with kyogre, he learns of its effects on a primal beast, where effect takes over but his ashes simply lack firepower. during smeargle swarm, while on his sygna suit, he experiences the analogy of the suit and avatarship.

  using Elisabeth Fiorelli as a foil and convincing her to continue, kyle builds up a polarity in matias' mind. increasing visits help suggest the message of responsibility, knowing that engagement with the florist will instill a different suggestion.

  a lot of threads and actions foreshadow his ending. many of them appear innocuous, but the message remains that he has prepared for the worst case scenario, living up to his pragmatic nature.

  champion threads with his challengers exhibit a fight with a team/gimmick similar to theirs in case a threat the masses have forgotten resurface, as seen in the case of the musketeer thread.

  on the same vein, he bestows sacred ash raikou to Josh Devlin against ho-oh's better judgement, gambling on the gym leader on whether or not providing a powerful weapon on a righteous, but explosive, personality was a good idea.

  right after vct, he hints to Melody Miro of a project he'd need her help with. he sets up a music fest for the summer to indirectly remind her of her priorities over war. whether the message comes across is yet to be determined.

  a thread with noah faber also shows the passing of the torch before the end of a chapter. there are more examples of foreshadowing in character, but these are examples of it.

  Melody's involvement in Primeval has had a major influence on her current plot. She has felt extremely conflicted about the entire thing as she is happy she became top champion but only in her worst nightmares would it be in the manner it had happen. Now she's left with a lost friend who took a vow to fight every issue together as a group. Yet one member now killed the other. She's now been exploring this new situation in Hoenn as the nation looks to the young woman with no answers on how she's going to safeguard the region when the leagues' hardest hitter is now gone. She first starts to explore this in her thread with FERNANDO SILPH as she takes Kyle's mantle and tries to fill his shoes in Dissonance. AND she also discusses with Julien Demassieux in That which remains [break][break]
  
  After her discussion with fernando she realizes just how big the shoes she has to fill are and starts to try and make moves towards finding Kyle. She tries to go back to the place where it all happened to see if she could find something and feels like she's being watched as Elisabeth Fiorelli lingers in the area like a ghost, possibly looking for Melody where a conflict occurs and Melody relies on Meloetta to deal with the issue. Yet she realizes that she is no Kyle lopez, she is not blessed or cursed with a Pokémon that grants her avatarship and it starts to show in her thread with Elisabeth Fiorelli.   This loss makes her realizes that she cannot be the pillar that Kyle was and starts to look to rely on others to make up for her short comings as a war is quickly brewing and it's up to her to do something. She discusses these things with Greyson Connors in Drums of war as she starts to realize she must rely on others to gain avatarship to arm themselves against rocket.[break][break]
  
  Due to all the surmounting stress that is quickly piling up on her, it even starts to take a toll on her personal relationship as Melody's been too busy to comfort Navy during the loss of his best friend. A rift had already been growing between them as Navy struggled to handle her fame. However, the loss of his best friend Kyle Lopez causes a massive rift between the two that causes them to eventually split. Splinters [break][break]
  
  During all of this, in the middle of the night Melody gets an email during the middle of a long day as she sits there with her thoughts. Kyle prewrote this email to automatically send to her asking to host a special music festival in the wake of his death during the summer. He outlines some personal requests, interacting with his two fave people FERNANDO SILPH and MATIAS SILPH (/s) and an interesting new person DESIREE BLOOMS.   Melody while ascending to champion is also trying to form connections in the interest of arming themselves against the impeding war. Melody first starts to interact with Greyson Connors in Drums of war where she asks for him to help her out in her personal goal. [break][break]
  
  In addition she also starts to form connections with other individuals such as annalise henderson in Yappers where she starts to probe Annalise further to start to see what type of person she is as Melody's interest was peeked a long time ago as someone who might have the league's best interest in mind.   Melody also shows an interest in Yuina Higashi and starts to try to bond with her prior to PP in S.O.S As her intellect on hisuian pokemon proves to be pivitol in assisting the Pokémon that are displaced in by the time distortion and proves that she's able to care for them better than anyone else Melody has found so far.   Melody in addition is also upholding her duties as an E4 member by accepting challenges from both Greyson Connors and freya morningstar and talking with them during the matches to learn more about them as individuals. • 1. The downfall[break]
  There had been cracks in Bryan and Xerneas's relationship, while the two shared a mutual bond and trust of one another, a rift had begun to form in.Seeds of doubt. Isaac's words planted the seeds in Bryan's mind with his betrayal of rocket and caused him to become more unhinged as he begun to grow more and more addicted to his avatar abilities. Instead of working with isaac towards the goal of purging the corruption spread by Elisabeth Fiorelli and wo-chien, Byran only selfishly talks about himself and how HE is the one who is important, not xerneas. An older thread, but it gives context as to why Bryan's so sensitive as of late Extracurricular mint frost 's words get to him in this thread of how he's a dissapointment to not only mint but bryan feels like he's one to those around him. Bryan's feelings are one again attacked as the same situation with Isaac Merlo happens with Remiel Calcifet The accursed. Remmiel also leaves rocket and comments on how Bryan has begun to change for the worse and bryan voices his dissapointment in others for not remaining loyal. However, despite Xerneas knowing he owes rocket a debt he promises Bryan he'll have his time in the sun (BUT IF OSLO WOULD POST, sarcasm btw) Xerneas would voice his dissaproval on bryan being so rash when he has all the time in the world to plan carefully. I'm sure there's other posts im forgetting but essentially all of these threads culminate in a final climax with Isaac Merlo , Zev Harcourt and Navy . In Severence Bryan is sent to attack the league's forces after the dragon raid as he stayed away from the fight to ensure Xerneas would not be consumed instead of fighting for the fate of the region. Bryan was then sent to attack the league's forces right after the fight while the rest of them were drained and this is where Bryan's addiction to Xerneas's light takes to another level. He starts to drain Xerneas at such a rate that the pokemon's life was threatened. Xerneas decides that enough was enough, if Bryan was nothing without his light then he should not have it. Xerneas severes the connection between the two of them and tells Bryan he must face his demons alone if he is ever to know Xerneas's love again. [break]
  
  Xerneas then goes to sootopolis and petrifies himself into a tree, knowing Bryan would plot to regain his abilities. If he did it once with solgaleo, he will do it again.
  

• 2. Connections[break]
  Bryan has been trying to strengthen his relationships in rockets with people to secure his position as a beast now that he can no longer secure his position as beast. (THIS WAS BEFORE HE WAS A CANON. I THINK)Sow the seed reap the land is a thread where Bryan starts to bond with Howard while he has Xerneas and hypes up Howard to do more in rocket as he sees potential in him. However NOW in Bring life you can see how Bryan is still reeling from the loss of Xerneas and how he seems more closed off than before as he mourns the loss of who he was without Xerneas. You can also see how Bryan is also trying to establish himself as a threat still as Calpurnia Kubrick tries to see if Bryan is still all he's cracked up to be and tries to test him during a mock battle with their paradox pokemon.
  
  In addition (this was set prior to bryan losing it but me and red have a future thread planned) Garden of eden Bryan and Diana Cavendish start to talk about themselves and get to know them. Bryan's going to be learning about her connection to Remiel Calcifet and start to plan to use diana against him and force her deeper into rocket potentially.

  thank you again to all those involved but i wanted to thank scarlet again for bringing the idea of the corrupted red shard in the first place, and for supporting all the development that has come since then. you are a wonderful writer (excluding wilds) and i look up every day thankful to see thescarletsky.[break][break]
  
  anyways, threading out matias' complex state of mind has been a joy that started years ago. it's been especially fun to write the differences in dynamics between characters. my favorite dynamic is of course with kyle lopez. to see how much they've grown from meeting each other at the hst all the way to kyle's sacrifice atop mount chimney has been a blessing. could not have done it without my pookie AEROdactyl.

  suspended from his role as elite four, matias has been spending his time rehabilitating at his ranch under the careful supervision of the league. almost detached from the ongoings of pp and the war prep, this has allowed matias time to recover, and it has allowed me to thread different beats to use in the future, one of which being HIS DETACHMENT FROM GROUDON.[break][break]
  
  matias has shared in RIGHTS AND WRONGS with Josh Devlin and DAWN BEFORE DEAD with Elisabeth Fiorelli that he is no longer GROUDON'S AVATAR, and that it remains under league custody.[break][break]
